Hey guys I could really use some help Please. Here's my situation I bought my 1992 cadillac fleetwood FWD 4.9L about a month ago.
I decided to do a routine tune-up on it I replaced cap, rotor, plugs & wires gapped them all at .060 first day evryting was fine until the next morning the car would rough idle up and down then after a min i assume the computer would adjust itself and be fine, but as i drive you can feel a kind of struggle or shake.
I did disconnect the battery in order to maybe have the computer reset its idle timing for about 15mins but nothing. Any suggestions ???

My other problem is this my upper dashboard vents yesterday I noticed a steamlike mist coming out the vents and fogging my front windshield it smels like antifreeze, My buddy said its probably the heater core or a leak somewhere because i get heat but i get the mist and before i go tearing apart my dash is ther anything else i could check or do???

Thanks:confused:

you can get away with an autoparts store one .....no worries there ...if i remeber right youll need to remove your glovebox to get to it ....its not a bad job at all ...

do we have a check engine light or anything for the other issue ?

No check engine lights yet! just that the smell and mist.

By the way i heard that for my tune up problem it might have something tho do with the type of plugs i used, I used Champion spark plugs instead of A/C Delco could that have something to do with it??? Anyone.

ok, when you turn it on and off... could be ISC . use AC delco plugs, AC DELCO wires, and AC delco cap, distributor, etc etc etc... dont use ANY other brand. unless it's been tested, i've never had good experiences with any other brand from pep boys, advance, or autozone.

does your antifreeze have the stop leak in it? just a thought... may wanna give bars leaks heavy duty radiator sealent in there. may be a good temp fix for that heater core.... fixed mine for three years so far....... but give it a try.

Alumaseal may help with the Heater Core especially if it's just a pin hole. Bosch Components - Plugs, Wires, Cap & Rotor have worked well in my '91 Fleetwood Coupe even the Bosch Injectors. Which brings me to this, Have you checked Resistance on your Injectors? Bad Injector/Injectors can give some of the symptoms you are experiencing. I had similar problems as you, tune up made it more pronounced. OHM-ed the Injectors 3 were bad (Wide Open) the others were showing signs of Age. Replaced them all, my Coupe Runs like a Swiss Watch! Don't forget the EGR Tubes they can get clogged up making the Rig run poorly.
