I bought my 2010 SRX this past October and only received one key/remote. Now I want extras and I bought 2 new OEM remotes and followed the manual (turn key 5 times...etc) but the only messages I'm getting after "Ready for Remote 3" is "No Remote Detected". I tried changing batteries on the new remotes. I also tried putting the good remote in the receiver cutout area and I get this message: " Insert New Remote, Press Start Button" which tells me the car can detect a remote. Any advice would be helpful.

You have to use one of the original remotes to program the second. I bought my 12 model and it only came with one. Took it to my local dealer and they programed both at on time for 25.00. Now my dealer is aces (small town) and the ones in larger towns charge over 100, found this out by calling the bowling green dealer

The instructions in the manual are accurate & complete.

Remotes learn their cars, just as the cars learn the remotes. Once a remote is programmed to a vehicle, it can't be reprogrammed to another vehicle unless it's reset.

I'm only aware of one place that can reset your remote. There might be others, but FreshCarKeys.com is the only one I found when I searched about a year & a half ago. They're in FL and they charge about $20/remote to "revirginize" them. I have first-hand experience in trying to program a used remote to a new vehicle (failed), mailing the remote to the FreshCarKeys.com guys, & successfully programming said remote to the new vehicle when it came back.

If you're certain you've followed the instructions and the new remotes aren't programming, it's possible that you've bought remotes that have already been programmed to another vehicle & haven't been reset.

Crunch_the_numbers - Thanks for the info and feedback on FreshCarKeys.com

I recently bought a used 2010 SRX Premium with only 1 remote but I still have a remote from a 2012 SRX (crashed and totalled :( ). I tried to reprogram it via the directions in the manual but failed like the original poster. I have contacted FreshCarKeys.com and will probably send it to them to have it reset. I will post my results and my outcome in the near future.
