Trunk won't open

I installed a new emblem over the trunk lock this weekend. To do this I had to remove the the trunk mechanism off the the trunk lid. Anyways I got it all put together and tried closing the lid and noticed the trunk lid got pulled down slightly farther than normal. No biggie, I'll just adjust the latch a little and all will be good. I put my key in the trunk lid and it makes a slight click when I turn the key, but it won't open at all. It's almost like the pull down motor has it's teeth sunk into it and won't let go. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try pushing down on the trunk lid. It is probably just out of rig.
Years ago, just after I got married, we had an old Buick. The trunk leaked so I adjusted the latch....Stuck shut. Finally had to take the back seat out and use every socket extension I could borrow. Was able to loosen the latch and open the trunk.

I had what I remember to be 8-10 socket extensions together to get to it. Had quite the droop but after several tries, I was able to get on the bolt....... Had to, I was newly married and my wife's boots were in the trunk. Didn't want to get into any more trouble!!

Get a little mileage out of that with your son....... If his room isn't kept clean, that's where he goes next!!!:)
Good Job.
