The pull down mechanism, while somewhat working, is not adjusted properly. I have to push the lid down almost all the way and then you can hear a faint click as the pull down catches and pulls the lid down a fraction further. After reading a little about it in a GM body Supplement manual, it looks like I can bring the lower latch up by loosening four screws. Anyone have a successful experience with these? It seems pretty simple, but I have been fooled before.

Hopefully someone will chime in.
I know when either of my trunk pull downs break on my Deville`s, I`ll just get them set up to close with a push like most other cars do.
Less battery drain and 1 less part to replace.
The trunk pull downs are a nice feature but really not necessary IMHO.
They can be dangerous when anyone accidently has their hand/fingers between the lid and a fixed surface in that area while it`s
pulling down.
Read some horror stories online of kids/adults getting broken fingers from those.
