I have the same problem getting into first and reverse from time to time. Mostly it goes in well but if I sit at a stop light and try to get into first it can be tough. Transmission was rebuilt about 5K miles ago while owned by the PO. It has new poly bushings in the shift linkage. Put in a Creative Steel short throw sifter. Changed and bled clutch fluid. Starting to think that's just how it is with the first gen CTS-V.
