Today I decided to do my commute with sport mode. Note that I have only had this used 03 CTS for 2 weeks so I haven't played a lot. I am however trying to catch up with a few common issues.

While in "sport" mode, driving down the highway, it started acting up. I cannot be 100% sure it was the transmission, possibly jerking between a couple of gears, but when I turned it off again, it seemed to be normal. I did not try again yet.

Is there a known issue/situation with the transmission and it's mode that I can investigate?

Cheers,
John

Sports mode causes the the transmission to hold on to lower gears longer before upshifting. Especially when you have your foot down and let off the throttle, the trans automatically downshifts to the next lower gear and holds on to it for a few seconds depending on the situation anticipating that you will mash the throttle again to accelerate (a situation where this is very useful is when you let off the throttle going around a turn and then you want to downshift on the exit of the turn to accelerate faster)

Is that what you are experiencing? That sudden firm downshift as you decrease or take your foot off the throttle?

Try not to use that unless you are "going to use it" by that I mean don't put it in sport mode and then drive normally. It's not meant to be drivin in sport regularly. Btw sport mod does nothing to fuel or spark. So if u don't have a miss in normal driving conditions then you don't in sport mode.
