I have an 02 Sts...

Problems are now...
when going from stop... it takes a second for it to go into gear... when transferring from reverse to drive it takes a second

The real problem I have it anything above 60 mph ... the car will idle at about 1400 rpm.. but transmission wont engage to 2800 3000 3200 sometimes.. which I feel it putting undue stress on the engine and transmission

I know when I had the 93 it wouldnt shift out of second and it was the computer to blame.. because they are electronic shift... but do you think it could be anything else?

Thanks for your time and consideration

check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes -

if you don't know how - go here and read the ENTIRE post -

http://www.cadillacforums.com/forum...ncluding-1985/138257-how-pull-codes-dtcs.html

if you have any codes - post them here -
ALONG WITH THEIR DEFINITIONS -

--------------
have you checked the trans fluid level?

with the car on flat level ground -
engine running - at full operating temp -
pull the TRANS dipstick -

the fluid level should be in the hash marks -

the fluid should be PINK in color -

and should NOT stink like burned leaves -

C1246 - Brake Lining Wear Circuit Open
u 1016 lose of commuication with pcm

NO -

and none of your codes are trans related -

it doesn't look good - I believe the trans is shot -

yea, I didnt check the numbers.. BUT i HAVE A 93 97 99 STS as parts car.. pre cars i bought

----------

SO now if the car is not warmed up.. it wont move at all...
Very slow engagement into reverse.. and when i first move it from cold I have to go to like 3000 rpm to get it to move... very weird..

Still have the same problem with it missing rpms..
for instance If i got above 50 Ill need to hit 2800 rpm even if when i come off the gas It drops to 1400.
The fast I go the higher I hvae to rev the engine before the transimission engages.. 70 its like 3200 something like that

I don't know what you are expecting - but the trans is NOT going to heal itself -

be sure to have your cell phone with you at all times -
at least you can call for a ride when it completely quits -
