After a short drive between my work and home (5 miles), I parked the car for about half an hour, and for the first time, I found a huge oil circle under the car. Looking under the car, the oil was dripping so quickly ... I checked it and definitely it is transmission oil ...

I left the car for a couple of days, changed the engine oil & filter, added a quart of transmission oil, raised the car and started the engine ... No oil dripping while the engine is cold/warm ... But when the engine temperature reached 210, the dripping started again ... When I drove the car for a couple of feets, you can see the trail of dripping oil very clear ...

I raisind the car and crowled under and the oil is seen coming near the transmission pan but from somewhere above ... Maybe from the transmission cooler lines going to the radiator or somewhere else ... It is very close to where the exhaust manifold from the 4 front-engine cylinders are going between the oil pan and the transmission pan ...

Appreciate you help and advice as this car means a lot to me ... Thanks ...

I am having the SAME exact problem!!!....I even took it to the shop and had them replace the pan gasket for $140 After I had already done so for $23. but It Still Leaks....and it leaks alot , about 3-5 quarts a day. is there anyway to seal this up??, (already tried bars leak, and lucas transmission oil.)..would it be bad to use some kind of caulk along where the gasket is?..I cant think of anything possible to do.or maybe the leak is coming from some where else..but i am very sure its in the back of the pan gasket. because thats where the drips are .the cost of transmission fluid is killing me , $6 a gallon! ...I checked the cooling lines, they seem to be flowing just fine.

After reading some of the posts, I am doubting that the fuild is that of the coolant ...

Any ideas from where can the coolant come from ????

Can a rear manifold gasket leak collant ???

Thanks ...

Wait a minute here...

Let us sort the tomato from the potato

The transmission can NOT leak engine coolant (antifreeze)
Engine coolant may appear to be leaking from the transmission, but in reality is not.
Transmission fluid may or may not be leaking from the transmission.

Here is where we sort the tomato from the potato:

The transmission moves transmission fluid from the transmission to the radiator through small cooling lines. Sometimes this kind of leak is referred to as a coolant line leak. In reality it is a transmission fluid cooling line leak.

There is a cooling loop (antifreeze) that passes across the engine in the area of the transmission that would give the appearance of coolant leaking from the transmission. If this loop begins to leak engine antifreeze from either connection (near the manifolds) it will appear that it is comming from the transmission.

Transmission fluid leaks not cased by a pan gasket are typically caused by a small (pressurized) leak in the fluid cooling line anywhere between the transmission housing and the radiator. This type leak will centralize nearest the hole and run down the nearest path to the ground. It will not leak when the engine is off. The only other place the transmission can leak other than from the pan or fluid cooling lines is at the axle connections. The drive axle leak is very easy to spot.

Hope this helps!

Is ther any diagram that can shopw how those coolant and transmission lines are running ???

I need to track them and determine the location of the leak ...

Thanks a million for your help and support ...
