My son just bought a 2006 CTS yesterday and today we noticed tranny fluid dripping in front of the engine and a fairly large rate would that be a tranny coolant line ? Never worked on a caddy but I’m about to learn and teach my son open for suggestions

From what I've gathered over the years, it's not uncommon for the transmission cooler lines to leak where they attach to the radiator. (The trans cooler is in the lower tank on the radiator.) Based on what you're seeing, sounds like that's where you should be looking.

Yes, transmission cooler lines go to and from the radiator. In case you only replace one, the one on the driver side has fluid going from transmission to radiator and the pass side is the return. Another possible leak in this area is the power steering hose(s)...just replaced mine last year.
