I found out that Amsoil has a cool "garage" feature where you can get a free account and add your CTS4, and in your garage it tells you all the details on every fluid. Here are some details it shows for my 08 CTS4 performance

Are Amsoil fluids the ones to go with? Unless going with OEM? Planning to replace all the fluids in our wagon soon, not sure when they were last replaced (only bought it a week ago), and would like to get a baseline going forward.

 

how has your car run thus far...I ask because if you are happy with how it has performed, you may want to use the fluids designed for your car and the one's that came in it from the factory (albeit to what the current spec might be in the case of any formula updates)...I had mine replaced at the dealership when my trusted repair facility reported they did not have some part needed to change the transmission fluid...surprising to me was that my dealership was running a special on the 4WD/AWD service along with the transmission service and although not inexpensive it wasn't out of line with anyone who has reported here (not including those that did this themselves)

It's running fine, other than the low speed grumble at full lock, put 850 miles on it in the past week with no problems. OEM it is, now to go find what GM calls the various fluids and sort out an order.

remember to check too if you have Limited Slip (G80 on your sheet) as some CTS' do not...good luck
