Hello again,

I am confused as to why I shouldn't get a transmission flush. Apparently with the pan drop and filter change only 3/15 quarts of oil is actually changed. Could someone explain this please?

thx

Unless you tow, race or do something really weird with your Caddy your Transmission fluid should last the life of the car.

I'm pretty sure your '00 has an Tranny Oil life monitor... What does it say... On most cars it will read >90% unless the tranny has over heated sometime in its life...

Most people with the "Bad Clunk shifting into Drive" find that their front motor mount, which lives at the bottom "front" of the motor by the oil filter is going south...

Motor mounts are one of those "common issues" with our cars... Powerful Motor, Heavy Car... Do the math...

The power flush is a backwards flow. Loosens dirt but doesn't get it all out. Does replace almost all the fluid though. I had one of the flush companies sites saved that recommends AGAINST flush if vehicle has 100K and never flushed but lost it on computer crash. You could do a forward flush by opening a cooling line.

Draining gets out about 8/12 of the fluid, not 3/12. There is a drain for the upper portion of the trans (This is for FWD 4L80E) .

Flush doesn't change filter, actually blows "dirt" out of filter though.

IMHO, changing the fluid more often, at least 100K, lengthens trans life dramatically. It doesn't do much good to change it once a problem is evident.
