Hi all, I originally posted this in the regular ATS forum and was advised to post this here.

I'm based in Australia and currently have a 2010 Holden SV6 Ute. Think of it as a Pontiac G8 Base but with a manual gearbox. If my post is upside-down, don't panic. It's how we all type here.

Now the gearbox we get in these is an Aisin AY6, similar to those found in the Toyota 4Runner and Toyota Tacoma. However, there's a huge issue with these boxes when you start modifying the engines... The second gear synchros tend to break.

I was wondering what box the LF3 powered ATS-V RWD has. I hear it's got a TR6060 or T56 in it. If it does, does anyone here have the bolt pattern and/or part number for the Bell housing, and/or can hook me up with a source for said part(s) i'd need? I just need to buy a single bell housing to take measurements for length and clearance. New or used, either way, i'm keen on one of these.

Why? Well, I'm looking at making a conversion kit to allow SV6 (and subsequently, any Zeta platform car which has a V6) owners to swap their crappy and rare AY6s for more common and more durable TR6060s and T56s (By replicating the bell housing). We've got plenty of these boxes here since V8 Commodores all use them. Clutches and such would be relatively easy to source, since all I'd need is to have a Cadillac ATS flywheel and a compatible T56/TR6060 clutch to suit.

Cheers!

It's not a separate bellhousing on these cars, the bellhousing is integral with the front plate of the transmission... so if you replace it the endplay of the gear stacks needs to be checked and possibly reshimmed to stay in spec.

P/N I believe is 24280264. Unfortunately I don't have the bolt pattern / dowel pin dimensional info.

No problem.

One thing to keep in mind is the TR6060 in these cars has a fluid pump in the front cover & bellhousing for cooling, and the lower shaft is machined for the pump drive... That may or may not complicate things for you. I'm not sure if the part number I posted includes the pump assembly, although it seems to be there in the picture.

This complicates things a little. I'd need to either source a VF GTS box if I want to keep the pump or see if there's a possibility to take the pump guts out of this one and see what the SS boxes have in them. They probably have a spacer of some sort where that pump is, or perhaps they omit the drive all together, making it possible to remove the pump. From what I've read the GTS has a slightly different lower shaft, like what the ATS V has.
