Anyone know what the towing capacity of the V is?

A poster mentions that the regular CTS had 1,000lbs towing capacity, maybe that's why I was thinking 1,000lbs for the V.

If its any help, I carried exactly 1,286.50 LB of tile in my car. The car only dropped about 1.5" and performed very well. However, I felt like I needed to throw an anchor out when attempting to stop

It's a fact the owner book says don't tow with the V, what a bummer!

It would be nice to be able to tow my ski boat to the river or launch locally with my daily driver. I'm sure the salt water wouldn't be kind to the Brembos but I'd do it in a heart beat if I could. Theres nothing quite like seeing your tool box floating in the trunk!

I wonder what the tow capacity of the SRT8's is? I need to keep my eyes on the future.

The service manual doesn't specifically say, but I'm sure they're part of it...

differential, probably. Towing a trailer would give drivers more incentive to push the throttle more to make up for the load, thus unloading more of the 395 ft lbs of torque onto the 310 rated differential.

Okay, returning to a more somber mood (oh, that was rich), I believe there are a couple of threads that deal with towing and so forth, and I believe that, at least back then (spring, early summer 2005) there weren't any hitches available for a CTS-V ... a CTS YES, but not a V. This may have changed since then, but you may want to research it a bit. Good luck.

Back when the e46 was relatively new, there was a guy at a HPDE I went to with an M3 that towed a trailer with his track stuff. He had to cut a hole in the bumper to do it. Looked pretty funny.
