Wondering what I should do. It just came on, I cleared it but it didnt come back. Its only been a few hours though. Should I drain the tranny fluid? What would you reccomend? This is the first real problem with my car :-(

If the TCC is stuck on, the engine will die every time you come to a stop. Kind of like stopping a standard transmission without stepping on the clutch.

Stuck OFF is not that big of a problem. It may cost you a MPG. Do a search. It has been explained before.

I have searched and read a lot. My question was not what it was, but what to do to prevent it from coming back...it showed up once, but once cleared has not yet returned.

You are going to need a FSM so you can follow the diagnosis chase around chart. Might just be the brake pedal switch. If it is the solenoid, the trans has to come down to R & R it. Probably not worth the expense.
