Hello Everyone,
I finally made it to the track this past Friday to see if the Borla's helped any in lowering my ET. I ran once last fall and really enjoyed myself and couldn't wait to go again. I modified my exhaust after the last trip to the track and felt only a slight seat of the pants improvement in performance. The sound is awesome but just a bit loud for my taste. A resonator may be in the cards to tone down the exhaust without reducing performance to much.
I paid my ten bucks and filled out the info card. I had to borrow some shoe polish for the windows. We waited about fifteen minutes til they announced that we could begin time runs. I made a few solo runs and then began match runs with whoever pulled up next to you. The first few solo runs were in the 10.06 - 9.977 range. My first run against another car was a late model Monte Carlo. I don't know what he had under the hood, but I smoked him at the finish but he got me off the line. I had a 10.124 @ 76.626 vs his 11.023 @ 64.681.
 Boy, that felt good. I'm sure that my streak wont last as I line up against a modified Nova next. My reaction times are slow, but my ET gets better. I get smoked by the Nova 8.289 @ 83.466 for him while I get a 9.844 @ 77.184. It wasn't as close as it sounds. I saw tail lights the whole way. It was fun though.
A few more solo runs in the 9.8 to 9.9 range and I pull up next to another modified (Dodge Dart). I don't know whats under the hood, but he shook the ground with his burn out and at idle. I get blistered off the line, but my reaction time improves to a .251 vs his .214. At sixty feet he is a 1/2 second quicker and pulling away. He wins with a 8.205 @ 87.351 to my 9.872 @ 76.632.
Next runs looks like I might have a chance. Its a another Mopar with some mods and the guy parked next to me so I got a brief peak under the hood. I see an MSD ignition and some modified intake and some dress up stuff. He pulls the hood off for our run. I get the reaction time at .409 to his .579 but he has my at 60 feet and we run close for a while. He pulls away near the end and I'm excited to be so close. He gets the win with a 8.669 @ 81.134 to my 9.952 @ 76.701.
Next run is a modified late model Camaro that looks good. He has some mods and some sticker stuff. We line up and my reaction time is .297 to his .375. Were close at 60 feet with only .27 difference. He wins with a 9.770 @ 73.858 to my 10.063 @ 75.469. Damn, I should have had him.
I get blistered by a few more modified cars and a buddy that came to watch decides he wants to run his MB Kompressor with a 4 banger and supercharger with manual tranny. His first run is in the low 10's and we decide to line em up. I toast him the first run with a 9.934 @ 76.297 to his 11.244 @ 69.389. I'm feeling better, but we want to run a few more times.
Next run is a a bit closer with me getting the win with a 9.897 @ 76.578 to his 10.217 @ 71.753.
Next run is my best time of the night, but I lose.
He get me off the line with a reaction time of .137 to my .523 and at 60 feet were dead even time wise. I run a 9.776 @ 77.030 to his 10.036 @ 72.551 and I lose.:banghead:
We have to wait about a half hour while the mop up the track where a guy blew a transmission line at the line and then drove down the track while he dumped his load down the track. The announcer said it was the battler of the luxury cars as we dropped the tops for the next two and final runs. I won the next two races with 9.94's and called it a night. We put the top back up for the drive home.
Not what I had hoped for but a good time had by all.
I will try to get some pictures up if I can get the file size reduced.
