Too much Escalade?

Blah. I'm not a big fan of trucks. If I were to buy one, it would be a Cadillac because I think they look FAR better than any truck. But still. I like cars. And that means I can't see on the road anymore because everyone else in New York has a truck.. 
You think thats bad Sal? You should try down here in Texas. Its almost a law that every Texan must own a truck. Just too bad you get them 4 foot nothing moms driving Excersions and she can't see over the dash. Its like seeing no driver in that tank :shocked2:

well i think i'll prolly take the regular gmc/chevy since you can get the 8.1 vortec v8 or duramax diesel on those
When the Escalades first came out, I didnt think they would do good. Moreover, I didnt think that they would be used as an SUV. I mean if people were going to buy an offroad SUV, they wouldnt get a cadillac, they would get a tahoe/suburban. Really, they arent going to spend 10k more for a cadillac SUV when the could get the same if not more off-roading capability in a suburban/tahoe.

um how many suv owners do you know that goes offroading(any model any make)? Not many. Very few to be more precise. THey just think suvs are safer because it's big and has 4wd capabilityelwesso said:
I think they buy them mostly because the neighbor bought one and they want to look as cool as they think he does. I only have one buddy with an Escalade, He bought the thing for two reasons...1. He only drives Cadillacs, 2. He needed a FWD truck to go hunting in. He's the only person I've ever seen that used his Escalade for what it should be used for. The thing is all scratched up from "Booney Crashing " and getting to where the game is and he also uses it for a work truck ( He has a small drywall co. ) It's the only Escalade that I've ever seen that I think looks cool! The rest of them with their stupid 24" wheels and their weak street tires should have bought a car!
I suppose most people dont buy SUVs to go off-roading. That is the only reason i buy one, and if i wasnt going off roading then i wouldnt get one. Besides, living in indiana it is kinda stupid not to have something with all 4 wheels turning.
I don't understand why someone would want one of the big ugly things unless they HAD to have it for carting stuff or curtain climbers around. I mean...The only reason I even have my van is 'cause it's needed for my business and keeps the miles down on the Cadillac! Fur the most part I think SUV means Stupid Useless Vehicle. That having been said....I do not agree with the IDIOT liberal Nazis that want to outlaw them! Those people are UN-American I.M.H.O.

Sorry kc but i have a suburban and a f250(4door) for towing(boat) and familiy vacation. I don't go offroading (i live near a city)kcnewell said:

Would you listen to yourselves. I don't have a 'Lade but everyone is saying how pointless the vehicle is. None of you drive your other Caddies because they are ugly or because they serve some specific purpose only. Everyone on here is swapping tips on how to make them look better or go faster or ride smoother. So whether someone buys an Escalade and drives it to the grocery store or jams 22's on it and lowers it, its their Caddy and thats what they want theres to look like or do.
It not an issue of if you would but 20's on yours or not, just like its not an issue to the Escalade drivers if you are reprogramming the computer in your Seville, Fleetwood or Deville to hop up the horsepower to some ungodly rating. Not every Caddy on this board is a daily driver (so how useless is that?) but you still cherish it cause its your baby. Lets not hate on those folks who can afford what they want also.
Hope I don't isolate myself on the board but I don't think you guys were hearing yourself bash other Caddy owners for loving their rides too.

We say what we think here! Good or bad....Sometimes guys will agree with you and sometimes they'll not. It doesn't mean they hate you they just disagree. It's a discussion forum hence we discuss things.....Sort of the nature of this beast! Read some of the older posts and you'll get a feel for what's happening here. We tend to point out our likes and dislikes rather strongly....There are people here that disagree with me almost every time I post but they NEVER tell me not to say what's on my mind. The differences of opinion are what makes this forum more interesting and fun than so many of the tech sites that you go to only when you have a question and then never go to again! Try to enjoy this....It's rare!
Don't get me wrong I enjoy the site, and appreciate all the opinions on here. Whether I agree or disagree, because it gives a different perspective on things we may have not thought of. This conversation just seemed soooooo one sided I felt I had to offer a different point of view as well.
