Has anyone heard of this product? As we all know, most older Northstars develop an oil leak. And the proper repair is quite an undertaking. Thanks for your input. Griff

Depends on the location and severity of the "leak". I place NO stock in "stop leaks" and would rather do a proper mechanical repair.

Like others, my 2002 Northstar externals are bone dry. Engine built in late 2001.

I suggest diagnosing the leak - THEN determine what to do with it -

could be a simple OPS - Oil Pressure Switch - a VERY common source for oil leaks -
and a fairly easy/cheap repair -

could be a simple rear camshaft cover gasket - also VERY common -
also a fairly easy/cheap repair -

oil pan seal and half-case seal are the two common leaks that require removing the engine -
along with front and/or main seals - this is an expensive repair -

-------------

several things wrong with using this stuff -

BIG problem with ANY of the "stop-leak" products is that they simply swell up rubber -
this MIGHT work for a little while - UNTIL the rubber just disintegrates -

BIGGER problem is that some of the seals on the Northstar are made from silicone - not rubber -
SO - the product would have no affect on these seals - if leaking -
but WILL - eventually - destroy the rubber seals and gaskets - that might NOT be leaking -
