Sox fans:

I recently moved to Boston and I can't find a place that will take off my runflats.
The places listed on tirerack won't. They either don't do runflats or can't work on 18" wheels.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
-Greg

Did you try a Goodyear shop? Many of them have the equipment. Of course, it may depend on what you're putting back on. I got a price for the F1 GS-D3s from Tirerack--and my local Goodyear shop actually beat it. And they had no problem taking off the run-flats.

Did you call NTB? I think there is one in Framingham or Natick? Here in the DC area there are about 5 NTB's, but only one of them (greenbelt?) will handle runflats. I don't know if it is because only one of the stores have the "superjammy" machine, or because only one store has the expertise. did you call the caddy dealers? Lindsay and Moore both handle runflats here, at competitive prices.

I use a place called Schlott Tire in Tewksbury, MA. About 15 miles North of Boston. They fixed one of my tires that had a rock in it and they dismounted 2 tires and put drag radials on. I did end up with some slight scratches on the rim when they mouted the drag radials. They said they were really tough to get the 275's on the 8 1/2" rim.

Also if you search the threads, I know thebigjimsho found someplace local to swap his tires.

Unfortunately, it was not a clean dismount. Any tire with a rim protector will cover most of the scars, it's just not a pleasant experience. Except for the wheel debacle, Olsen Cadillac in Woburn has been a real pleasure to deal with.
