I have stock 17inch rims on my cts. I want to go with the stock 225/45's in the front and 245's in the back. What is a tire with good performance that is reasonably priced?

Yes, it is.

Check the numerical reviews on the Tire Rack website. I live near a Discount Tire place, and I buy my tires there.

Others have had luck with Goodyear Eagle F1 all season, but mine wore out in 10,000 miles of easy driving. Goodyear compensated me for the unusual wear.

I like the idea of the Bridgestone Potenza 960s. Great rating re: hydroplaning, traction, noise, snow, wet weather, etc. Have not yet purchased them.

Then there are some really good and expensive Michelins.

I put on Falken FK452s 235/45r17. I've been happy with them and they were reasonably priced. They are summer-only (I have winter tires), so may not be a good choice depending on where you live and if you ride winter tires.
