hey everybody, i just got my sts and it has 235 60 16's on there now. id like to just use the same tire size, but there arent very many choices in that size. i was just curious though, what would people suggest from experience to be the best tires in that size....i went to my local goodyear dealer and they suggested the goodyear assurance tires would be the best, but at 581 for tires, mount + balance, etc.... that seemed a little higher than i anticipated. let me know what you guys think...

are kuhmo tires any good? hankook?

I have had GY Assurance triple treads (225/60/16), Kumho Ecsta 716 (235/60/16), and currently Kumho Ecsta ASX (235/50/18). The best all around tire was the Assurance. If you live in a snow atate, you will be more than ecstatic with the Assurances capabilitys. The Kimho.s are great tires also, but, out of the three, the GY was the best. I am waiting for the day, that GY, makes them in the 18" sizes.

The Kumho Ecsta ASX is a very capable snow tire. We just had about 6" of snow a week ago. The Kumho's worked very well. Not as good as the Assurance, but almost. I never had the 716's in snow, but my sister has them on her Bonneville. I just asked her today how she likes the tires. She said she has had no problems. Strangely, my sisters husband, has the Assurance's on his Mark VIII. He claims they are terrible in the snow. That must be a rear drive thing, I am not sure. The GY's made my Seville feel like it had four wheel drive. One of the best all-season tires I had in the snow. I guess that the Caddy has something to do with it also.
