I see on My Cadillac app that tire rotation runs $108, that is expensive. My dealer said they had to install 2 heavy duty lifts for the Lyriq so I would imagine that dealerships is the only place to get a tire rotation and probably replacement tires. Well I guess that is how to make up for lack of oil change business. Is $108 price what others are seeing?

Sounds a bit off, if they are currently rotating tires for the Escalade (which is similar weight).

You might want to try one of the national tire chains and see if you can get rotation and balance package deal.

The Lyriq is just under 6,000 lb. Almost all vehicle lifts at both GM dealer service centers and 3rd party auto service or tire shops are rated for at least 7,000 lb, and if they also service HD pickup trucks, they‘ll have a 10K-rated lift. You’re probably OK for using either your GM dealer or any quality 3rd-party tire shop for your rotations, so long as they have access to the service instructions for updating the vehicle TPMS system to match new tire positions.

all GM dealers servicing any Ultium-based EV will have to acquire at least one GM-specific mobile lift designed for raising/lowering 100 kWh Ultium battery packs weighing up to 1500 lb. If they will also service GMC or Chevy E-trucks w/ the 200 kWh packs, the required fixed vehicle lift will require 10K lb rating. The special movable pack lifts are monsters, rated to lift over 3,000 lb.

The TPMS system will automatically update:

TPMS Sensor Matching Process — Auto
Learn Function

Each TPMS sensor has a unique
identification code. The identification code
needs to be matched to a new tire/wheel
position after rotating the tires or replacing
one or more of the TPMS sensors. When a
tire is installed, the vehicle must be
stationary for about 20 minutes before the
system recalculates. The following relearn
process takes up to 10 minutes, driving at a
minimum speed of 20 km/h (12 mph).
A dash (-) or pressure value will display in
the DIC. See Driver Information Center (DIC).
A warning message displays in the
DIC if a problem occurs during the relearn
process.

Better jacks stands...
My furd f350 crew cab long bed is 6400 i believe and it's a bit much to lift and support with jack and stands. I did look for a 10k plus lift when i was looking for them due to weight of that pig.

I would run from that dealer as fast as I could. That is a total rip off take it to a tire store that has the proper equipment.

That is what run flats were to a point. But they still need to be changed.
Well, unless you have a tire mounting (and balancing) machine at home, you'd be going to a dealer or tire shop I would think.

Now, if you want to change your own tires/wheels in order to exchange snow tires in your home garage or rotate your own tires, you'll need a properly rated floor jack. However, I have not seen the manual jack points detailed for the Lyriq, and this is something you need to be very careful with a heavy EV and battery.

Lyriq has run flats with it's own compound already in the tire.

Really I DO UNDERSTAND it was not a debate

Just pointing out how Ford is covering the topic

And suggesting that a CHEAP backup that maybe messy AND COULD impact a repaired run flat expensive tire. BUT have you ever been on an Interstate with a flat at 10 PM!

Again not a debate just information for reference!

What? I'm just saying having the can isn't necessary with the Lyriq, and may actually not play well with its tires.

I've been stuck on an interstate at 10pm in the pre-mobile phone era after hitting a deer. I had a real spare tire. Didn't help.
