I would disagree. Even all metal parts still attached to engine and sub frame but they do no function at all because rubber/liquid are away..

 

The metal he is talking about is basically a fail safe so if rubber portion of mount is bad the mount will only allow so much movement.
This has got to be the longest thread on something as simple as changing mounts... I could have done it twice in the time it takes to read this thread....

 

Hey were all a bunch of arm chair mechanics around here. If we start accounting for hours pontificating vs hours wrenching it will get ugly

 

Because this is the hardest thing I ever performed on my car. And I didn't get desired result after 2 attempts.

 

If to be honest, I feel very desperate. I guess this is the age/millage of the car. Stuff just gets worn..

Ain't trying to be a tool, but my point was if he thinks the movement is excessive to change the other mounts. I told him as much, it's not magic...the mounts control the movement if it's moving to much change the mounts.
I'm not sure what answer Scan is looking for, sometimes there is no answer and you do what you think you should. we are not there and cannot give you a 100% solution and yes it sucks blindly doing stuff but you'll be a better mechanic for it and it will give you confidence in other projects.

 

Other members said that side ones are fine. The question is about rear one now.

 

I would do the rear first, then the sides if needed.
It's a little off topic but since you seem to be a big spender getting all these expensive parts , could you loan me $100 till next Thursday.

I see that you torment yourself over whether or not to buy theses parts. Even the pros are guessing sometimes. It is hard to know for sure if it will fix the problem till the new part is installed. My point , just do that rear mount.

What kind of "expensive parts" are you talking about? I hope not about essential mount..

 

I just left the dealer here in NC and they told me mine is broken. 490 bucks to fix it. `^¥«««]]°°°

My motor mount job is coming along pretty well. So far I'm still in the planning / posting phase of the job.

 

Get a oil pres. Switch. Every time I hit it and it leaks. Also remove the top crossover brace above the radiation it make the top 2 bolts simple to remove and install. Well worth the time.

 

If you remove the brace you can access upper two bolts? Great!
