Well didn't really "race him"... more like "stood still as he left me in the dust"... :thepan:

On the freeway...came up to him... drove along side for a while, gave him a thumbs up, he did the same... cool guy. I guess he got bored of driving along side... he downshifted, I downshifted... and he was like GONE... I didn't bother pursuing... there was no way.

What a car. What are they going for these days... $450K?

I've seen one driving on the way to calabasas.
It was a carrera gt getting chased by an 911 Turbo and E55.
Too bad I was driving the companies International 4700.

Sheesh, at least you guys have people who aren't afraid to drive their cars. Here in vegas I can't get anyone to step on it; only once did I race with a 600sl that I toasted on the interstate, but ever since that first kill I keep rolling up behind strippers in Z06's who've never seen WOT. Makes me want to scream. :banghead:

Its just insane to imagine that GM can build a Z06 that is as good as it really is...really.
The GT is an Uber-Car, like the Enzo, special in a way that most cars could never be...but the new Z06 is a killer.

You would need a VERY talented driver to be able to take advantage of the Porsche's abilities to beat the Z06. Most people, on crash/cost-to-repair/fear alone wouldn't be able to wring out the top 2% of the GT on a road course.

And please people, do not start bringing up 1/4 mile times....running either car on a strip should be basis for lifetime revocation of driver's liscence and forever riding a public bus. These are race-cars...not sihtboxes with big engines.

We are comparing heads-up racing, however, given the choice, I would prefer a new Z06 and $370,000 in T-bills to a Carrera GT.

1/4 mile times mean nothing to me. But the times at The Ring do. If you check, you'll see that the C6 Z06 and the Carrerra GT were almost dead even. And try to get two sets of golf clubs (or even one) into the GT.

Thanks for the pic, the wing on the Carrera GT looks ugly when it's raised...

From a roll the Carrera GT should walk the new Z06 (605hp vs. 505hp), and it beat the Z06 by a significant amount at the ring.

The GT is definately a sweet ride, but in the pic it really looks like those newer body MR-2's!! I know its just the pic, its a real site in person- very wide and low, not to mention fast and expensive.
