I was goona say sandblasted from following cars, but since your car's new and either way doesn't explain the other windows. Only other idea think someone said would be carwash. Do you use the touchfree ones or with the brushes? I never use the ones with the brushes-when they're not spinning the bottoms sitting on the ground with the sand and crap and whatever it picks up from other cars. Plus the "wheel cleaners" scratch your rims too. Either that or just crappy glass from the factory.

I waxed mine before winter and saw all the tiny sandspots on my windshield. Irritating but only noticeable in certain light. Then bout week and a half ago, was trying to take it easy on the way home from work in the dark and not get nailed speeding. Pulled in my driveway and had a foot long crack in the windshield. Then sat in the car finished my song and watched it go 3/4 way across. Had I been driving like I would have liked, wouldn't have been following semi as long as I was and maybe wouldn't have had to get new glass. Should use that as an excuse next time I get nailed-doubt it would work. Got lucky $215 w/tax, not bad but still sucked. Think lack of rainsense helped with that. Prefer not having it anyway. Last car with it it was never on the right page with constant rain change and I was always fighting the system. Hardly ever worked nicely. I can adjust my own wipers gm

The the glass in my car was in the worse shape that I have ever seen, both inside and out. There was glues or some type of adhesive residue on some areas of the front and rear glass inside the car. It is hard to get off and the only way I got it off was with some bug and tire remover.
There are cluster of tiny sparkles on all the outside glass that is only seen under extreme and bright light conditions. I have used every safe product that I can and where it seems that some have come off some have not. It is almost as if I am working with something that is both on the glass or in the glass or it has bonded to the glass that a more aggressive action has to be taken to remove it.
The service department did not recommend polishing the glass but I think they were looking at with an electric polisher. I did polish some areas with a glass polish by hand but I did it very gently and this seemed to help but beyond that I would not be any more aggressive. The service department has reached out to Cadillac as we found another new 2019 XTS on the lot and the glass exhibited the same issues.
This is just on a side note, but if you have a power rear sun shade, you might want to check the top panel of that shade to make certain that the protective film has been removed. As it has been my experience that for what ever reason most service departments fail to remove it when the the car is PDI.
If the finish of the top panel of the rear widow shade looks wrinkled or cloudy in appearance than more and likely the protective film is still on that panel. Also if you feel along the panel and it feels extremely smooth or slick to the touch the film might be still on the panel. The protective film is very tricky to remove as you have to really get your finger nail up under the edge of that film and lift it off. This is much like separating double sided tape from it's backing.

What have you used so far to clean the glass?

Never mind I just scrolled up... Next thing I’d try would be a Magic Eraser with either diluted all purpose cleaner or glass cleaner as the lube.

Another thing I’ve found that works really good is this McKee’s High Performance Glass Restorer. It’s a glass polish/cleaner. It can be used by hand or machine. I usually do it by hand with a terry or microfiber applicator.

Thank you, I have used Griots, clay bar for glass and their glass polish as well as another product made to remove paint over spray and tree sap. The glass is much better but some of these tiny sparkles seem to be actually in the glass. In that they can only be seen under extremely bright and direct sunlight it is not a major issue but am curiously waiting to hear what Cadillac has to say.

Things like imperfect glass can bug the heck outta you if you let it.. I’ve been there myself. Glass also happens to be 1 of the hardest areas to clean and correctly finish off. The perfect finish is usually dependent on the towels that are used. Humidity can also ruin things. It sounds like you’re not letting it bother you too much and that’s a good thing.

I notice the sparkles on my ATS windshield. Mostly looking into the sun when sitting still.
They look all over, but touching the outside there are only a few actual pinpoint pricks from stones.
I see very few on side windows.

In very direct bright sun light very tiny sparkles in clusters and individually can be seen on all the glass in my car. The worse appears to be the windshield. In the line of sight I would not say that they are distracting but just a little disturbing.
The body shop said that it is not any type of overspray but appears to be some sort of imperfection of the glass. The service department is saying other wise.
The problem is the sunlight has to be bright, low on the horizon and shining directly on the glass so I have to get the car back into service under these conditions, which I hope to do today or next week. All the glass may need to be addressed but I am mostly concerned about the windshield.
I do not plan to argue with service nor Cadillac over this issue and am prepared to pay to have the windshield replace should it come down to that but first I would need to know that the new windshield does not have this issue. I did some research and it seems that this issue has been reported as being found with some other GM cars as well as with some other brands. The good thing is that the majority of the time they go unnoticed.
I am just asking other 2019 XTS owners to be on the look out and report in if you have notice the same. IMO it is things like this that has put Cadillac in the position that they are in with both the XTS and the CT6:gg:
I know that these posts were a while ago and I see all over the internet people are talking about this from all makes of cars. And so today, after I googled "tiny microscopic sparkles on my car glass including my mirrors" and I came upon this forum. Times have changed since 2008 I also came upon an article on geoengineering! Those tiny sparkles come off after you do a simple car wash. they have nothing to do with the glass of the car but the weird thing is it gets on every part of your car not just the windows, including my mirrors which are encased with a hub. I have a 2004 Honda Odyssey. It's parked all day out in the open, no trees that have any sap to speak of, besides we have palm trees out here and this is happening in the middle of December and January?? Going back to the geoengineering, I see they are spraying the skies with microscopic models including aluminum and barium, there's three others I can't recall the names. One of them made mention that you may see this fallout as they describe it, on your car looking like tiny little crystals. they are shiny because they are microscopic bits of aluminum. I have lightly drag the tips of my fingers across these little crystals and you can actually feel them. Then when you take any kind of wet rag and wipe them they're gone. If you use a paper towel you can see a gray residue on the paper towel when you're finished. Now I know some of you might be having a hard time with this thinking of some kind of a tin foil hat conspiracy guy, but like I said I'm parked out in the middle of the desert in an open lot away from everything and I get completely covered by this every other day, and if you look in the skies in Nevada especially in the morning you can see nothing but chemtrails throughout the entire sky and when you look at them directly above you, not in an angle but directly above you you can actually see it coming down on you. This has led me to the conclusion that someone within our government or military complex is spraying the skies just like China does. I've tried numerous times taking pictures of it and you really can't see it unless the sun is directly on it or if you're standing in front of the sun with your car in front of you during sunrise and sunset.

There’s an easy solution for that, if it were the problem... It’s called the windshield washer button.

ELDORADO2K...does this product affect the windshield wiper performance?

Not at all. It leaves the glass perfectly clean and smooth. If anything it’ll work to remove any film or product that has adversely affected wiper performance.
Thanks! I ordered a kit that includes it from Amazon...comes with the High Performance Glass Restorer, Krystal Vision Glass Cleaner, two German Polish ‘N Wax Applicator Pad, and Waffle Weave Glass Towels.

Be careful with the polishing as there is a protective coating on the glass. If you are not careful heavy polishing will lift that protective coating. In this case you may want to follow up with a glass sealant.

Thanks for the heads up. It's only going to be a light polish, mostly I want to reduce what appear to be water marks below the level of the wipers, but I guess I would have to do the entire window for a proper job.
What kind of protective coating does it have?

As I was told by the service department it is more of a sealant that is supposedly done by the glass company. It is supposed to protects the glass from hard water marks, tree sap and bug stains. I take that the factory process is better than the sealant you would purchase and apply yourself.

When I told the service manager that I had planned on using a power polisher he highly recommended against it so I took my chances and lightly hand polished my glass. For what you are doing the light polish should remove those water marks. I would do the entire glass as you will be surprised at how clear that glass is going to look. You may also want to try a little vinegar on a micro cloth to see if that will lift those marks.

Sounds good. Thanks for the info. I didn't know the OEM glass has a sealant on it.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the sealant mentioned.. It’s probably just a quick spray sealant job done by the glass company.

Let me know how you like the results when you get your kit.
Shall do, but it's still winter here, and I'll have to wait till spring and warmer temps...probably around the end of April!
