My car has 118,000 miles my check engine is on and it sayin my timing chains took it to couple places some mechanics told me its too much labor for them to get into..but I found my regular mechanic he told he would do it but now since I'm spending so much money I think I should look at the quality of the work,he never did engine work on my old Car..so my question is that should take it to the dealer and get it done or should I trust that mechanic to go in my car?.

----------

Can someone help, any opinions?

What codes are you getting?

If it is the timing chains for sure, I would take it to a Cadillac dealer for $200-$300 more you will have peace of mind and cross country warranty, if you're planning on keeping it.
