Last week on the highway my front end was wandering left and right. Took it to Goodyear, they put it on the rack and was obvious the front left tie rod was shot. I have 125K miles on the 2003. I had this problem on 6-6-09 and Rekkid had it on 6-7-09 so I thought I'd start a thread to remind folks, if you do your own maintenience, periodically, jack up the front end and move your wheels left and right. If there is any play in the wheel, your tie rods may be worn. You don't want to be driving like this at high speeds. \ /
I've never done a tie rod, nor do I know where to start exactly. I would like to, where I am a very quick learner and will be able to do it. If some could provdie me with min instructions. Like what special tools would I need. I know I could always "rent" the tools from my local parts store.
I don't knowif they are hard to replace the guy at goodyear said he had to pound on it to remove it. After the replacement, he had to do an alignment.
