i just picked up an '04 V over the weekend, and i notice it ticks for a few mins upon cold start up. i thought this was just normal lsx piston slap, but now i'm reading that the ls6 should not have any piston slap at all. car has 69k miles. It runs good other than a slight misfire at idle (most likely plugs/wires). anyone else have any tick/knocking when cold? (cant use the search feature for this forum from my phone). Thanks

It is just normal until the motor heats up and the metal grows some...

For what it's worth, and from what I've seen, the 04s did not have the anti-piston slap spark table. The 05s did. It seems to work. And the LS6 when it first came out was reported to be a slapper.
