Thoughts on high mileage 2020 Escalade

Good afternoon,

I'm new here and have never owned a Cadillac before but am considering purchasing a CPO 2020 Escalade to replace my 2015 Tahoe. The amount being offered on my trade is much higher than expected and Escalade price is under Bluebook. I don't really "need" to replace my current vehicle but anticipate needing to do so within the next year or so. My concerns are that the Escalade has higher than normal miles for being a 2020, at just under 45K miles. The dealership/Cadillac is giving an extended unlimited mile warranty that will cover me for 4.5 additional years but am a little weary about taking over a vehicle with so many miles but otherwise seemingly in fantastic shape.

Does anyone else have similar experiences with buying a newer high mileage Escalade on the CPO program and have any negative experiences? positive experiences? Any feedback will help. If it helps, after accounting for my trade I'd be on the hook for a little less than 30K so it seems all things considered to be a solid deal numbers wise. Thank you in advance.

Sounds like a good trade to me, balanced risk and reward. You’re never guaranteed anythibg in life, not even with a new car on zero miles. If you like the 2020 and it drives straight- do it. 45,000 is not much when you have the warranty.
I love my 2020 luxury 4WD now with 18,000.
Nice! Thanks for the input. The model I’d be getting is RWD - luxury with sports package. Thanks again and enjoy!

GM CPO or aftermarket? If the latter, back out NOW!

I have never heard of a extended warranty with GM and unlimited mileage. 4.5 year extended? That's 54 months. Extended from what mileage, 45K or 50K?
Sounds like aftermarket. IMO is No.
"Giving" ? extended warranty. I doubt that. It's in the price somewhere.

Ya and then if you do buy an extended warranty after CPO which is unlimited miles after new car ends. How many miles do you go with? I have a 2018 with 34k miles new car ends 5/2022 then CPO to 5/2023. Why buy a warranty now? I get what Cadillac is doing going with other luxury brand CPOs but it’s so dumb to say unlimited miles. Why not just offer the 6/70k on CPO? Really Cadillac should just be 6/100k out the Gate and keep it same on CPO just certify that there 10000point checklist is good. I hate 3rd party warranty and rather just go through manufacturer but GM makes it hard. Escalades are like 30% profit to GM for each one sold. INCREASE the New Car warranty GM to 100k especially on Cadillac.

My apologies for the typo. The B2B Warranty is 3.5 years, unlimited miles remaining. My initial email had a typo There is an additional 2 years on Powertrain, unlimited miles. CPO through GM. Going directly through a Cadillac Dealer if that helps.
Any insight is appreciated. Thanks

There not being honest with you its 4/50k miles then CPO unlimited miles for 1 year. So basically you will only have one year on warranty. Once you hit 50k your going be into your CPO. That’s a Bullshit Dealer there making it seem like you have 4.5 years. Its only unlimited for one year after new car warranty that includes miles

Cadillac offers a "Platinum" warranty which continues the bumper-to-bumper warranty past the factory 4yrs/50K miles. These seem to cost $2K to $4K plus depending on how many miles your car has, and how far out you want to extend. CPO only includes major mechanical, the Platinum covers almost everything. I had a 2015 CPO and my magnetic ride shocks/struts went out around 53,000 miles out of warranty. The cost of those alone would have covered the price of the Platinum warranty which I had not elected to purchase. I guess it depends on how long you want to keep the Escalade. I liked my 2015 enough that I traded for a CPO 2020 with 20,000 miles, and I can assure you that the 2020 is a MUCH better car with all of the bugs worked out. Good luck!

I bought my 2018 Escalade new. Purchased the Platinum extended warranty plus tire and wheel protection , total 2445 it takes me to 75,000 miles or the year 2025 which ever gets there first. Essentially I paid that for an additional 25,000 mile protection. Probably could have done better. I only have 26,500 on the truck now. For whatever it's worth good luck to you.

I just did pretty much the same thing. I got good trade-in value out of my 2013 Suburban with 88k and stepped up to to a 19 CPO Escalade Luxury with 39k. I have 10 months factory warranty left, then 1 year CPO limited warranty followed by one more year of drive-train warranty. The truck looks and drives like brand new. My wife loves it so we’re happy.
