Long story short; I sustained several injuries snowboarding two weeks ago and now I'm broken. I haven't driven my car in over two weeks and I MISS it!
Also, I just moved into a house with a real garage that I could actually use to work on my V but I'm broken and can't even turn wrenches. Pretty much sucks...

Hey, I just went snowboarding this last weekend, glad to meet a fellow 'boarder.
I can totally relate, I've had injuries hold me back from things before and if you're like me it's extremely frustrating; hope you get well soon!

yeah... that sport really should be banned, but I guess you know the risks. well, everyone does now.
Ha. If that's the case then all sports should be banned. I think each and every sport has its dangers. And I agree, people should be aware of these dangers prior to engaging in the sport but I don't think the world should live in fear of this kind of stuff. If that was the case, no greatness would ever become.

Wildomar, near Temecula. I just seem to remember you saying your in southern Cal. I gotta limit any repair help to like 2 hours though cuz the Mrs. will get pissy if I'm gone all day working on cars.

I broke my left humerus completely in half snowboarding a couple years ago. What a pain in the ass (and arm). Going boarding tomorrow.

Ha. Ya, I broke my radial and ulna in my arm (had surgery to put them back together), fractured 4 different bones in my back, a couple ribs, and lacerated my spleen. One of the worst injuries I've ever seen on a snowboard and it happened to me. Fluke accident too! Oh well, I'm alive and that's what really matters. I might have to stick to surfing for a while. Lol.

I know, we spoke on a different thread but my memory is shit. My name is josh by the way. Ya, I'm in San Diego, out by SDSU. I'd be stoked to meet up with you and take a ride in yours and then you take a ride in mine. Maybe you can tell me if you think she needs anything.

Yea I'm down to give you a ride for sure, when you're body is in a better state of repair, so to speak. Did they remove the spleen or leave it in there? It's not a necessary organ in the body.

Um dude, fractured your back, what in holy hell did you hit? I am no stranger to injury but I haven't broken my back. I have broken my radius and ulna on my old BMX not fun... ribs, eye orbit, collarbone, dislocated shoulders and my hip once and multiple concussions on dirtbikes. And I had a nasty get off at like 80mph in ocotillo wells that broke a helmet in half. I am a lucky bastard I guess.

Damn dude! Sounds like you like to throw it down too! Ha! Nice...
Ya, I had a fluke accident. I was taking speed runs (easily hitting 44-50) and hit some really f'ed up bumps and dips. Threw me sideways into a pole. Week in the hospital and now another 5 weeks minimum of rehab. :-/ The good news is, I'm alive. The bad news is, I'm helpless. Lol. Barely walking, let alone driving. Soon enough I'll be back in the saddle though.

I guess that's why they're called Extreme Sports. With subjective scores, it's hard to call it more than seeing who can be the bigger daredevil...until someone gets hurt, or dies.

Damn that sucks did they airlift you out? I have been skiing since I was like 4 or 5. The one day I tried snowboarding I separated my shoulder 2 hours in. It popped back in so I just kept going. Snowboarding and me don't mesh well I guess.

Yea I guess I get after it on dirt bikes. But when I lived in Carlsbad I was surfing everyday I loved surfing. I lived for those Baja storm swells rolling in the spring. I remember me and some buddies were night surfing at the oceanside pier when it was easily 8-10 footers. Even with the lights on the pier you couldn't see far enough to get into a good spot. That was pretty hairy for sure.
