On Tuesday night, the drive motor in my cd changer died. Today, I walk out into the parking lot at work about 3 hours after I got there to find two big puddles of coolant under the front of the car, coming from the side tanks. Is anyone's luck really that bad, or is this just some crazy dream I'm gonna wake up from. This blows big time. Now I gotta spend money on a cd changer, plus the labor to install the radiator I just bought (I don't have the time to do it myself). I hate having to spend money on crap!

That is all....rant over!

Well I've already got the new rad in my trunk. It's just deciding whether or not I'm lazy enough to just get it done at a shop, or do it myself and save the money. I'm leaning towards the second choice...since I don't have a lot of money to spend in the first place.

I took the cd changer apart and managed to get it working somewhat. One spring came off the tray that the laser and main drive motor is mounted to. Managed to get that back on there. The drive motor still doesn't like to spin sometimes though, in which case some minor "persuasion" is required. I think I tried to persuade it a little too much last time though, which might have knocked that spring off. Oh well, it's working now.

I'll probably sucker my friend into helping me change the rad on Saturday in his garage (since I've got my mother's triumph half taken apart in mine). I'm sure we'll be able to buff it out.

When my 12 disc cd changer crapped out a year and a half ago I got a new 6 disc Panasonic that takes up less trunk space on ebay for 100 bucks, it had the same pin connector plug and works fine.

This changer is mounted in the center console, so space is tight. I found a new
changer on Crutchfields that's a direct replacement for about 230 bucks. When this one finally dies beyond my abilities to repair it, I'll probably go with that unit.

I managed to get my buddy to help me put the rad in this Saturday in his garage.
