There are too many CTS's out there...

I bought the car because it was unique and I liked the handling. Lately I have been thinking of getting a new car because it seems they are now everywhere. I went to church this morning and in the parking lot there were 8 CTS's there. I went with the wife to ShopRite to get some groceries and when I came out of the store there was a CTS parked right next to mine and 2 cars over and behind my car was another one.

I am glad that Cadillac sales are doing good but I almost wish the sales on the CTS would drop. My car is not unique anymore since there are so many of them now. Not to mention my neighbor accross the street from me bought one last week too.

Whatever you do I recommend keeping it. It's still an awsome car and when people start to panic (like with gas prices) and sell or trade them in large numbers, it contributes to depreciation of the brand because dealer lots become flooded with them and then have to give them away. Fleet sales are a big problem for the Deville steep depreciation imo.

They problem is they produce too many, and then cannot sell them, and then have to close down more plants. Look at Toyota and how they don't overproduce and keep everyone wanting more.
Along those same lines, has Cadillac or has anyone released the production numjbers (by option package) on the CTS??
In the last several months, two different neighbors of mine bought my exact car. Same exact color, same exact packages, same everything.

One guy has an '06, other than that, all 3 of us drive the same exact car.

I do see a lot of them on the road nowadays.

I get a lot of compliments on my car (even though I have no mods)--so I guess this really isn't surprising.
you want to get rid of your car cause there are some other people that liked it for the same reason you did? what if those people are thinking the same thing? i wouldnt get rid of it. i love my baby. just cause i see other people with them doesnt mean nothing to me... they have good taste... mine! sorry dude, i just dont see your angle.
TBH I have only had mine since last Tuesday and I have only seen like 2 maybe 3 of them , and 1 of them is a lady up the street ,, I drive into Boston everyday ,, so maybe they ha vent flooded the mkt here yet
I totally feel you Tomm. The CTS was attractive because it was something unique and rare, maybe even cult-like a year ago. But I guess it's just more motivation and incentive to keep one-up'ing everyone else and doing mods to separate one CTS from the others out there; although this can still only separate so much.
2 Words: Employee Pricing

The firestorm is why you see them everywhere now. The CTS is one of the most sought after cars in the GM lineup, and when the price looked as good as it did this summer everyone gobbled them up like candy. The CTS is an amazing car, lower the price and it's even more amazing.

I agree... It happened right after the '05 2.8L came out, then they started showing up everywhere.
Tomm, I agree I try to be differnt and unique personally and with my ride, but I wouldnt sell mine, I would just
do more to set myself apart from the others. Rims , system , performance mods , just something different then off the lot like most.

Interesting. I bet everyone of those Toyotas are spoken for, and people tend to keep them longer than other cars....
I like my CTS and blonde girlfriend. There may be plenty of both in the world, but who can say when there are too many? The world is a more beautiful place because of them! Live for yourself. Who cares what everyone else drives?
Uhm, so you purchased a mass market product hoping no one else would discover it? The CTS is kind of like an iPod, once people figure out they can have their cake and eat it too everyone is going to be lining up at the dealer to buy one because it's not a BMW 3-series which everyone else already has, or an Infinity G35. Revel in the fact that there are a lot fewer CTS's out there on the road then there are Honda Accords or Chevy Tahoes. Yes, maybe, you might see one or more CTS's on your daily commute, but it until you accidentally try to get into a car that is not yours, it still has some uniqueness, something the Toyota Camry and Honda Civic lost a LONG time ago.

The growing number of CTS's shows that there are more saavy consumers who are picking the marque that delivers style and performance at a resonable price. Compare that to the number of Charger/300C/Magnums on the road, those are consumers who have not the first clue about intelligent purchasing. If you cannot feel unique, at least feel intellectually/morally/spiritually superior!

I see maybe 2-3 a week. I have never seen another copper sunburst.

It was the first one I saw in Hamburg. Very nice!

Tomm, come drive a CTS in Europe for a week. You will be very lucky to see another one! ;)

Tomm,
I suggest you keep making mods other than your wheels to make it look different.. Wait..don't you have a lease car? That would change things.:(
Must depend on where ur from, Here in Mass (Boston area) I dont see that many, matter a fact I get all excited when I see one because its rare for me. It lets me see how my car look from a distance or all hooked up in some cases.

I'm the onyl CTS in my Immediate area and were I work (500+ employee's in my building) I'm the only CTS in the parking lot.

Nope, Not a lease but I would take a big hit if I traded it right now. I put almost $6000 down so I should not be negative on the trade but thats alot of money to loose on a car in less than a year.

My area is extremely populated with Cadillac dealers. Within 20 miles from me there there are 3 Cadillac Dealers all of which are doing extremely well. Not mentioned in my original comment I forgot to include that I met with a friend of mine on Friday which I have not seen in a few years and sure enough he has a CTS as well.

I give Cadillac credit for its success because they have done what no other manufacture has done in the past... They built a car thats appealing to every age group. I see teens and old folks driving the CTS and they all seem to love it.

For me I like to be different and I like owning a car that looks different. One of last cars that I enjoyed alot was a 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII. I loved that car and people always asked me "What kind of car is that?" Those cars were pretty rare and I liked that.

The CTS did get those comments in the beginning but now it seems that my area is overpopulated with CTS's and now I hear "ohh you have one too."

Also remember that we're comming to the end of the car's design cycle, the Original CTS was sharp and striking when it first came out, and with only 1 year under it's belt there weren't many on the road, now during it's 4th model year there are 4x as many out there as when it first came out.

When the next gen CTS is released in 07/08 (Sales Year/Model Year) we will see another amazing animal and i'm sure everyone will be saying, wow is that the new CTS? that's hot! (if paris hilton is around)
