Finnaly whipped the mighty ping , turns out i had the vaccum line that runs to the egr valve on the wrong outlet port on the egr soleniod so i swapped those and plugged the unused port (am i supposed to do that?) im still wondering why the soleniod has one inlet port and 2 outlet ports , unless that other outlet is supposed to go to something

but now it has a odd surgeing/hesitation at an even cruiseing speed (like 55,mph cruise ctl engaged) which is odd

also did the idle relearn procedure so it ides great now , cant tell shes running

the other deal is my oil leak, the oil filter adapter has a bad gasket ont he block side and i over tightend the lines that go into it cracking one of the fittings on the houseing , i didnt break it off tho ,so as it is right now its not leaking from there but i know as soon as i take that line off it itll break the rest of the way

no junkyards will sell me one as they wont take one off a good engine.... caddy wants 84.79(pn 12567313) for it and 9.11 for the gasket (pn 1637565) anyone got any ideas here ?

The aftermarket vacuum diagram I have for your car shows a very basic system. A line to the Trans. vacuum modulator, a line to the fuel pressure reg., a line to the MAP sensor, a line to the EVAP canister, and then finally one to the EGR solenoid valve, which then has one that goes to the EGR valve itself. The EGR solenoid valve is controlled by the ECM so as long as it has a good line to it, the rest is up to the ECM. Is it possible that you connected a "controlled line" from the EGR solenoid to one of the other components I mentioned above, and a constant vacuum line to the EGR valve? I wouldn't think so because constant vacuum to the EGR valve would give you a very rough idle and/or cause a stall. I'm just thinking that if you were to take a line "controlled" by the EGR solenoid and applied it to one of the other components (like the MAP sensor), it could cause something similar to what you described.

i dont think i did a line goes from the throttle body to the solenoid (up by the strut tower brace ,center of rear valve cover) then ont he other side of the solenoid there are two nipples one upper one lower before i switched it the bottom nipple had a line that went to the egr the upper one had a vaccum cap on it where it diidnt have a cap before , then yesterday i swapped them ....the upper has a line that goes to egr and the lower is capped , which left me with the hesitation but no ping and alot of confusion as to why the solenoid has 2 outlets but is dedicated to the egr circuit , i have pics at home but i wont be back there till saturday , ill post them then to relive some confusion
