I'm sure I'm not the first one to ask this, but since this forum is practically dead, I figured I'd just go ahead and ask it.

After close to 3000 miles, my Oil "Info Screen" states that I have nearly 68% of my oil life left. Now being a little bit anal about oil changes, I went ahead and had it changed today, (while the car was in for warranty work) but I was curious if the Caddy gurus here even pay attention to the "Oil Life percentage"
or do you just get it changed every 3 or 5 thousand miles?

TIA,

James

I noticed, that this "oil gadget" works very well - If you drive in rough conditions (dusty areas, towing trailer, mostly short trips in city in low speeds), then you probably see oil change indicator reached 0% in about 3000 miles.
If you drive mostly highways, long trips, not mutch stoppings in lights, you probably can change oil after about 5000 miles

And tip - this indicator alert you, when you have 4% oil life left, so no rush. But this reminder is so annoing, that i always change oil then...:)

Personally, I would still change it every 3000 miles. Cheap insurance to have a long lifed healthy car.
