Anybody know a good source for some (cheaper) whitewall tires? I can't find any on tire-rack.com. I really like the Kelly Navigator Gold Series, but being a college kid with a movie-theater pay budget, I can't really afford them. They would be for the '84 DeVille. I'm not sure, but the tires on it may be origional. They aren't bald, but are starting to get down there. I was wondering if anybody has had good luck with these:http://www.walmart.com/catalog/deta...0.jpg&product_id=1819187&iIndex=1&isVariant=false&corpCard=false&type=undefined

Yes, I know they are a wally world special, but people say they are a decent tire. Middle of the road reviews.
My old whitewalls will go on my '90 Brougham 'till I can get new ones (the fronts on there now are BAAAALD). Any tire input is greatly appreciated.

Hey guys I just purchased some new white wall tires 225/75 15's for really cheap ($65 each) where I live. They are a 1.3 inch ww and are a perfect white wall size for our old school Cadillac's. Plus the tread is of modern design unlike the crappy Coopers.

the odd thing is that these are off brand tires that I have never heard of, but they perform well and look great on my 94 Fleetwood.

They're called Kingrun Geopower K1000. I have a link here which is off some dealers website.

I have no idea how my local tire shop was able to get them, because they're a Chinese brand and there isn't much info online about the company.

They could possibly be imported, but I have had no issues with them so far and the Cadi rides much better with them too.

Appreciate the comments everyone! Yeah I wish I had the chromey wheels instead of the standard aluminium ones, as they truly make these cars pop.

I am not sure exactly what national tire chain shop can obtain these tires, my best guess is to call around your local area's smaller tire shops and ask if they can get you a set of "Kingrun Geopower K1000" WW's. 2 of my local tire shop get these tires all day long and they are literally the perfect ww size and the sidewall is smooth and doesn't have any of annoying jagged lines grooved into the sidewall like the skinny half inch WW Hankook Optimo's do that ruins the look of the white wall personally.

These tires will give your Caddie the original classic stock look.:) :cool2: Screw paying an arm and a leg for the American Classic brand.:tisk::thehand:

SDCaddyLacky, could you do me a HUGE favor and measure your whitewalls for me? I really like the look, but I'm shopping online & not sure the ones I've found with a 1" whitewall are the same. I'd really appreciate it! Also are those 225 or 235 series?

Ok so I spec the ww out, and it looks to be a 1" to a 1.3". Speaking of your 64 Fleetwood, I have a 64 Deville, and when I bought the car it came with 2.5" Dayton WW tires that are probably over 10 years old but look great which look really nice compared to what came stock or the era. The Fat Gangster whites on 60's Cadillac's especially the early to mid 60's models, the bigger whites make them stand out and give the cars a more classic flare.

From a 3 quarters view, or when people are right next to my 64 at a stop light, they think it's a late 50's Cad due to the gangster whites and the 63-64 front fender styling which is reminiscent to the 59-60 models in a slight way.

FYI, these two kinds of tires are the same as the kingruns that SDCaddyLacky posted. Different name, same tread and whitewall. I'm planning on getting a set for my '79 Phaeton ASAP. Can't wait! I had a set of the "APLUS" brand on my '89 Deville before I sold it, and they were excellent tires, especially for the price!

Yesterday I ordered a set of Lanvigator Powertourings for my Phaeton. They are the same as the APLUS and Kingruns. Can't wait to get them here & get them installed! Will post pics.

This is pasted from the other thread in which you mentioned tires:

About a month ago I had a set of these exact APlus A868 tires in the 215/75-15 size installed on my 1978 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Regency, found them on eBay from Tucker Tire in Dyersburg, TN, worked with Mark who I can't say enough nice things about, paid $71 per tire. I ended up driving my car from Wisconsin down to Tennessee to have the tires installed, after which it was hot as H-E-double toothpicks as I drove over to meet fellow forum member Larry in Alabama, then continued on down to Florida. The tires were beautifully quiet and controlled, I strongly recommend them! As with the set of Runway Enduro wide whitewalls I have on my 1982 Buick Electra Park Avenue diesel, the whitewalls on both of these brands tend to yellow quickly here in the heat and humidity of Florida - the APlus tires clean up with Westley's and high pressure water, while the Runway Enduro tires only seem to whiten with the soap filled scouring pads. :)

I'm almost done with my 18x9 whitewall wheels. I have two complete on the front, and I just finished painting the white onto the 4th one, so I pretty much just need to get tires and I'm done.

Also, I saw an old 1970 or so F-100 with a set of whitewalls on it. Looked like a 1.3 inch, and had the word Roadclaw on the sidewall. Couldn't find much on google though, so I might have to take a closer look.

Wow, that actually looks awesome! good work. nice mounting of the classic hubcap, too. I'm sure you won't know until you ride it but hopefully they won't rattle or anything without the clips all around them being locked into the rim like they do on the oldschool rims. I'm sure you could put some kind of bushing or rubber backing to cut down on that if it is a problem though.

Really excited by that project as white walls are getting harder to find.

Already posted these in my Phaeton's thread, but thought I'd post here to keep the tire talk together. Here are the Lanvigators I was talking about. I flubbed the model name up though, the model is Primetour, not Powertouring. They're 215 75 r15 with a 1-1/8" whitewall. Very happy with them so far! Found them new on eBay from a shop in long beach for $75/tire.
