Don't know yet. Supposedly more detail in some states. There is a 2 year old street in my area I have beed waiting to appear on one of the updated DVD's, I'll check it our this weekend.Staxxin said:Excellent, I've been having this problem with my upgraded GM disk.... THANKS!!!!
How updated is the Infinity disk?
I haven't tried yet. My thinking is that I'd have it search for an airport in the destination state then enter the address. I'll try later.heavymetals said:Can you set the destination for a trip outside your home state?
Glad the disc is working!
It works fine and I have the early 05 model. The way you set the destination in another state is to zoom out and use the arrows to scroll to it on the US map, then zoom in on your destination. Once zoomed in you select set destination and it will calculate the trip. It works and you can set the destination in a matter of seconds. It's pretty Kwel.heavymetals said:Can you set the destination for a trip outside your home state?

The big problem is getting the disc to work in the 04 and early 05 models.
Maybe you could post your vin# and we can get an idea of when the NAV units were changed.
I cant belive that my nav unit is obsolete and cannot be easily upgraded (reflash like the PCM), and this is still the CURRENT MODEL YEAR!
CADILLAC needs to get it's act together on support.
If they had their act together, Onstar should be able to call up the units and download new firmware into them.
Just looked and sorry, no data for Alaska. The map ends at the Canada/Alaska border.Akslem said:So what happens when you zoom out , scroll up to Alaska and then zoom in.
Does it show any Maps for us up here?![]()
That is the problem!slow35th said:It works. 2004 is the same as early 2005 which is what I have. I found another easy way to enter an out of state address. Select enter destination then select all POI (points of interest) then enter the city, the street, then the address number. The neat thing is that as you zero in on your destination the choices of numbers and letters becomes smaller and smaller as to what is available making the enrty process very quick. It takes only a second or two to enter an address you want to go to and then it will calculate the trip and then it gives you verbal instructions as to where to go. Entering address will only work in your home state. Use "All points of interest" to enter an out of State destination.
What did not work on it?benjet said:6.3 didn't work in mine, so I'm no rush to try 6.4 as of this moment, but thanks!![]()
Have it search for nearby cities and then select your home city. That will get you out of Michigan. Then you can enter any destination address within your state. For addresses outside your state, enter them through "all POI". It'll work.benjet said:1st it (the nav unit) only saw the disk about half the time (it was not the nav unit bc I could swap to the 6.2 disc and it would always see it - weird), then the Michigan issues once they got me another 6.3 disk.
