My downshift switch that is mounted on the side of the qjet broke, and I am having a hell of a time finding a new one. are there any known bolt-in replacements (preferably on the same bracket as the old one), or is the only route an aftermarket solution (like the B&M switch kit).

They turn up once in a while on Ebay. I think they are the same on Buicks and Chevys too

On later GM trucks and some larger GM cars, the switch was located above the throttle pedal inside the car when they used a cable throttle instead of the older threaded rod. On my buddy's 68 GMC I used the throttle pedal and downshift switch from a later GMC.
