hi im new here, i own a 02 deville and was wondering if anyone could help me. my deville has terrible multiple misfires. i changed the plugs today hoping this would work but it didnt. while on the lift i also noticed the cat was glowing red hot, so i disconnect the cat and drive up the road. it still feels like a 4 cyl. im guessing ignition mudule, but would this explain the red hot exhaust? any info would be appreciated and thanks for reading my post.

Codes on dash? Extra fuel to burn, therefore the cat has to work overtime, Ranger is onto something there. Are you sure your wires are routed properly? Even number cylinders are by the radiator: 2,4,6,8, and odd are by the firewall: 1,3,5,7, in that order, from the passenger side to the drivers. If your coil packs are still the originals they will be labeled with which cylinders they go to. That is if your engine is traverse and not RWD, I haven't worked on anything 2000 or newer, maybe somebody else will chime in.

Also check to make sure no plug wires have been pinched, as one mine was under the plastic northstar vanity plate. Also did you make sure the spark wires made that satisfying little click as they engaged the top of the spark plug, if not they might be intermittently making contact as the car moves down the road.

DTC P1360 (Current ??? - C ) - Ignition coil Group 2 control circuit.

Something's wrong with the front coil pack, and the reference to "circuit" leads me to believe that the connector to the ICM is improperly installed, a wire has pulled apart, OR the ICM connector to the coil cassette is faulty. That ICM will unplug from the coil cassette - two screws and plastic lock clips.

Please - always post the code definitions AND if they are Current or History.

sorry about that, yes these codes are current. i changed the front coil pack today and still have the same problem. the connector to the icm seemed to plug in easy, i didnt check for broken wires so i think this is going to be my next step. is it possible that the back coil pack is faulty? and are the front and back coil packs interchangeable as well as the icm's ?
