Is my car running too hot?. Today i was on the highway and checked the temp it was 217* F . Is that too hot or thats the normal temp thanks in advance.

I keep seeing people post temperatures here.. how do you find it out? I have a 99 sts and it has an analog temperature gauge.. is there ssome way to find the actual temp?

Well, 210 is considered optimum, so if it was hot out, 217 sounds fine. Check your coolant levels though while you're on it, make sure you're properly filled.

That's a NORMAL temp.

My 96 Deville was running at 220-231 over the summer. It was about 100-110 outside-I called my local Cadillac dealer and they said 200-240 was normal running temp. Anything under 240 is fine according to them.
