I have a 2013 XTS. I have been tagging songs off XM radio. Each time I tag a song I get a message informing me that the song will transfer once an iPod is plugged in. I bought a brand new iPod Nano yesterday from Best Buy. I set it up at home, plugged it into the XTS on the way to work today and nothing happened. No songs transferred--nothing. So I am officially confused as to how this is supposed to work. Any help would be appreciated.

I think it just transfers the name of the song and not the song itself...have you checked iTunes? (I'm not an Apple user but am familiar with the platform) I do know once you tag a song, it will let you know when it plays on XM again...works pretty well, especially if you like a certain band. The only downfall is that you MUST be using XM for it to tell you that it the song is playing.

If it just transfers the name of the song and not the song itself then the entire process is a complete waste of time and is extremely misleading. I guess I need more information. Some of the other threads I read led me to believe the song is transferred. I'm going to dig around on iTunes tonight on my laptop to see if this mystery 'feature' really works or if it is just smoke and mirrors.

Okay, so I called OnStar a couple weeks ago--they have no idea how this is supposed to work. Interesting that this is a Cadillac car, with an OEM Cadillac radio, and OnStar is a GM owned company and they don't know how this is supposed to work. So I called XM radio, spent 16 minutes on the phone, talked to 4 different people. The final guy I talked to had no idea what this feature was and kept trying to redirect my attention to something he could help me with rather than solving my problem. Finally he admitted that this function is not possible. So I asked why it says it does and should work. He had no answer. I get this answer above from ZI700. Why is it GM can't tell me this? Why does it tell me that the songs will be transferred when an iPod is attached when it does not work yet others on this form indicated that songs did transfer?

Apparently all this is smoke and mirrors, what the radio tells me will happen doesn't happen, GM, OnStar, nor XM Radio can't 'solve' the issue, nor can anyone tell me what how this is supposed to work and whether it actually works or not. So why does the radio tell stuff will happen when it won't and who was the genius at Cadillac who put this together? Apparently there is only one person at Cadillac that knows how this is really supposed to work and he works in some obscure building, in the basement, never sees the sunlight, and he isn't telling anyone how this is supposed to work because it is a SECRET and if he tells anyone he will have to kill them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What an absolute line of crap.

I believe CUE support would have the answer to your question and not OnStar/XM. Did you try calling them?

So your saying that CUE doesn't even tag the song to purchase later? (I've tagged three myself but haven't officially tested it yet)
