Switching DRL's to fog lights from headlamps

I have a 1993 eldorado... I personally don't mind DRL's, maybe because I'm Canadian and every car has'em anyways, but I hate how it's the headlamps that stay on, not the fog lights, and that you have to manually turn the fog lights on when you get in the car. I think the cars look much nicer with the fogs on.. but even better with the fogs on WITHOUT the headlamps on.

Anyways, I'm going to pore over the schematics and see if I can splice the DRL's from the headlamps over to the fogs, so they stay on all the time, and the headlamps DON'T. Looks very nice in my opinion.

Wish me luck... anyone tried it? Shouldn't be difficult, even if I have to throw a pair of relays in. The key is leaving the full functionality of the headlights....

There has to be a simple method to do that on your vehicle. I have done just that to a '98 Seville and a '04 Deville. All it took was relocating one wire and using a diode to feed the fog lamps; no relays needed.

Good luck. I love the effect.
....My car is a '98 eldorado if it makes any diff.
Year model makes all the difference. GM makes changes in control circuits from year to year and you need the specific wiring diagrams to know where to start. And the only diagrams I have are for the cars I mentioned.

I have been running fogs as DRLs on the '98 Seville for maybe 3 years and I did the same to the '04 Deville later. Also modified the lighting control to have both low beam and high beam headlamps on when high beams are selected.

And the '98 Seville has LED turn signal glass in the outside mirrors.
