Porter cable buffer and some 3M Scratch & Swirl Remover or Zaino Z-PC, these are both mild abrasive paint repair products, but if you have never done this before take it to a pro, a good body or detail shop car do this. After you get this done or do it yourself you should NOT take your truck to an automatic car wash, make sure your wash your truck, or have it washed by hand, use 100% cotton wash mitts, and 100% cotton towels to dry your truck, use a "wax" without abrasives, most over the counter "waxes" contain abrasives, they will cause light scratches. All these things will help, but being your truck is black it will not be easy to keep it swirl free. :)

I feel you pain  I used to have the same problem. Than I found a wonderful guy who comes to my house and brings his own water etc. every Saturday. Its to bad you're not in the Los Angeles area or surrounding areas. Anyone who's interested in finding out about this service let me know. I recently moved to Yucca Valley,Calif. And he's still keeping me on my Saturday schuele, Thank God. He's coming over a 100 miles to provide me service. Theres only one carwash in town. There's no way I'd let them touch my baby. I hope you find someone in your area. I went through a lot of bad experiences :banghead: until I met this guy. Just keep looking.
Peace Xrayqueen :)

Xrayqueen Im in Orange County can you please find out what he charges and if he would be willing to come down this way?
Yes he will come down there to O.C. His name is Gonzalo. PM me and I'll get you and appt. He just came to wash my truck from Sherman Oaks to Yucca Valley,Calif. today. He normally charges $13.00 for a wash and $60-80 for claying and 3m application which I have him do every 6 months. I usually give him $20.00 for a wash becuse he does such a wonderful job. I'm very picky about my truck. Bordering on anal :) He will also report bad news if he sees any dings, paint isssues etc. So P.M me soon.

I also have a black STS in addition to the 03 Escalade. Had those swirl marks from the beginning. They are towel marks. Don't bother with any type of towel except microfiber. Get them from Sam's. My body shop said they are the best and they are. After about three coats of Meguiars Teck wax they got noticeably better. Nobody touch the car but me and I only use microfiber even to wax. Good Luck.

Most microfiber towels cause swirl marks, there is a simple test to check your microfiber towels, get a CD like the ones that come in the mail from AOL, rub your microfiber towel on the working side of the CD, not the label side, for 10-15 seconds, then hold the CD up to the light, if you see any scratches that towel will scratch your car or truck. :)

What about chamois cloth's... I heard that is good to dry black cars with and wont cause swirls...
A good quality chami won't scratch your paint but with the invention of microfiber more specifically waffle weave for drying cars chami's are over with. With WW microfiber you don't have to deal with the smell and maintenance of a chami.

The only problem using a chamois is there is no nap, if you get dirt or anything under the chamois it can scratch, if using a chamois be careful and rinse your car/truck very well, this will help. :)
