im starting to not like my leather seats. my car is almost alwayse in direct sunlight, and with nice weather happening more often and some recent long drives, ive found myself arriving at my destination soaked in sweat. this was almost a problem saturday, as i used my caddy when i took a friend to her senior prom. (keep an eye out for a couple pictures in the pictures thread) and i was casually wondering, as i began to stick to the seat of my car, how difficult it is to replace the seats with the fabric ones?

Does your AC work? Even on warm days I do not have a problem with sweating on my seats as long as I have the windows down. The ribs in the seat make for nice ventilation.
my AC is excellent and ive tried driving with the AC on, the windows down, and both. my seats just get very very hot. it probably doesnt help tho that i wear a lot of black and the seats are dark blue.
If you find another set of cadillac seats (1980-92) they're simple to swap. 4 bolts per seat. Sometimes a little tough to get to the front bolts if the power's not connected. I think it's a #50 torx bit for the back seat.

Buy one of those sun shades and toss it in the windshield. Protects the dash too.
This might sound like a dumb question but... do you wear shorts?
Luxury sedans and their leather seats are(where) intended for the wealthy; those individuals who would consider themselves heathens if the went out in public with no less than two layers of clothing.
Swapping the seats wouldn't be too hard if your athletic and flexible, because they weigh about 60lbs each. If your front seats have the belt attached to them, then you have to find seats from a 90's brougham; the 80's seatbelts are attached to the B-pillar. Matching the interior color may also be difficult; some colors may have only been offered with leather/fabric. Junkyard cars are not always the best place for interior parts. Most of them leak at the seals or have no windows, so the carpets and seats get moldy. You would also have to make sure that all of the seat motors work and that connectors are not damaged.
Overall, it would probably be easier to just get some cheap seat covers or to cloth whatever skin is sticking to the seat.

My 1991 has leather and my 1992 has velour....the leather wins hands-down from a comfort standpoint. Yes, you sear backs of your thighs on a hot day but with the leather your body doesn't stick like velcro to the back of the seat as it does with the velour.
