Hey all,

so I have a 21 sport platinum SWB. I have a deposit for the V , but we’ll see what actually happens with that.

right now I have 1 21 month old , but will prob have 2 by the time I get that truck. My question is, do you all feel the SWB is big enough when packing it for trips ect.If not, any regrets with getting the SWB vs Esv. Im debating on getting the Esv instead.

I went from A SWB expedition to and ESV. I have 3 kids 13,4,2 so we needed more room. It does seem alot bigger for sure but the extra space with strollers and stuff is A gift. Im getting the V and will def be an ESV.

The only downside I have seen with extended trucks (our ESVs and Nav L) is parking head in. I find it easier to 3 point turn into the spot which I didn't need to do with our GLS or short Escalade. Other than that the ESV is better in every way. MUCH more storage, better ride quality and the middle row windows go all the way down (unless they addressed that with the new E's)

Didn’t realize the ride quality was better in the Esv. The last Esv I had was back in 2017. I just hate the parking situation when parallel parking. A lot harder to find spots big enough. But the extra I could use in a year or so. Once I have a second kid , I’m gonna need the 3rd row

In all honesty if I only had two kids, I would go back to a range rover, not sure why you would need the size of an esv. If you want the speed I would get a g63 or gls63 over the escalade as well.

I like the Esv, but if I didn't have 4 kids, this car would not be on my list. Especially not at the V price point.

It's a big car, it's not "hard" to drive, but I would still prefer a shorter car.

I have 2 kids and the ESV is a must. Sports gear, backpacks, luggage, coolers, fishing poles, kayaks, friends, etc… there’s never enough room. While waiting for our ESV we have a 22 Yukon Denali XL and we still throw the rooftop box on so that we can haul more stuff.

It's just me and my wife now. We've always had the ESV (third one, I think). It's my everyday vehicle. My line was: "If I'm going to drive a truck, I'm buying the whole thing not just part of one." Completely happy with our 2022 Sport Platinum ESV. Can't believe we were able to get one. Love our dealer. Supercruise is awesome. The extra length gives an improved ride. We know that for a fact because our daughter has a standard length 2021 Escalade which we have taken on a trip. Her family takes ours for longer trips with their four kids. The space gets used all the time. Had a 2020 GLS which I loved. Wish the Escalade had the same hybrid power setup (with a V8 of course) but the Cadillac V8 is satisfying. This is probably the best vehicle I've ever had. And my wife agrees so life is good. :)

im definitely leaning towards the Esv! Interesting with the ride. I had an Esv years ago so I forgot somewhat. I had the range and had a 18 gls 63. I loved it but the room isn’t good. My wife drives a gle and it’s fine for daily but any trips ( we go to Disney often ) is a pain. Plus when the whole middle row has car seats and I need to put family / in-laws in the back it will cut downon almost all of the room. My thing I guess is it’s occasional not every day that I need the room.I don’t want to rent a vehicle either. I like having all my comfort and options. Probably will do the Esv

ESV is a must for this truck. I have 3 kids and it is comfy and roomy. 3rd row is so comfy and spacious. My 8 and 5 year olds love to sit back there. Even when it’s just them in the truck. They’re super cozy back there. My 3 year old prefers her own captain chair, mainly becuz she’s strapped in there with a 5 point harness lol.

The ride of the ESV is better on highways that are seamed or created in sections. The additional length eliminates the rocking motion inherent in the SWB trucks frequently they hit the seams at.

2nd, you can always use the extra room but if it’s not there, you can’t go back and add it. This pertains to kids toys, bikes, inflatable pool toys filled with the gas station air pump, etc.

3rd, Resale. Mom’s want the room of the ESV knowing that if they had to wait 5-7 years to buy a SWB, it’ll probably be that long to upgrade to a preowned ESV. Wives are smart, they will not wait that long to upgrade from a SWB to a ESV knowing kids and their friends are on the way. Mom’s will make Dads pay the ESV premium.

4th, once you had an Escalade Stretch Vehicle, SWB isn’t as fun.
