Here is my dillema. I have an 04 SRX V8 AWD with the 6-disc in dash changer and Bose. I do not have XM.

The CD changer is having serious issues, draining my battery, and always thinking. I have to 'reset it' by undoing the battery to make it start working again.

Here is what I want to do: I want to swap that radio out for the factory single CD & Cassette radio. This way I can use the tape player for an auxiliary input for my ipod.

Does anyone know if this is possible? Are there any issues that would pop up because of it? Any codes or anything like that? I'm great when it comes to mechanical problems, but electrical are a weak spot. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

I had no idea a modern caddy came with a cassette.

I'd probably just pull the radio and open it up and disconnect the changer mechanism.

Swapping radios will at a minimum require a VIN learn to be done on the radio using a tech 2.
