I need your help:

1) Does the CTS 3.6L use the same motor mounts as the v8?

2) Does the 6-speed transmission use the same mounts for the v6 and v8?

3) Can anyone point me to the engine weight/dimensions, tranny input shaft and spline info. etc?

I'm wanting to modernize my 1967 A-Body (Chevelle, Skylark) by using the CTS' V6 engine, 6-speed transmission and ECU. Heck, I may also try and put in the console too.

If anyone has any info. or comments, I'd really appreciate it.

I doubt the motor or trans mounts are the same between the CTS and CTS-V, v6 vs v8. And since GM didn't have a v-6 back in '67, I think it would be pure luck if any of the mounts came close. Remember, to the change you suggest is going to require more than just the one computer and the exhaust system will need to include cats in order for the O2 sensors to work and report to the computer. I suppose it could be done with enough time and money but for me there would be a lot easier conversions.
Good Luck with your project and let us know how you are making out.

Well, that's the question isn't it - does the CTS / CTS-V V6 share the same engine and transmission mounts as the V8?

There already exists a conversion kit for swapping the CTS V8 into my '67. Soooo, if the v6 shares the same mounts then I can just buy the V8 conversion kit rather than building new mounts.

Of course, swapping in the V6 means I also need to know about the stance of the engine and transmission to make sure there is enough room or the extent modifications are required.
