I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic...because if you are, it's pretty funny.Jeez, you guys... If you want reliable, high quality, high capacity, multi-view, state-of-the-art dash cam functionality...
BUY A REAL DASH CAM!
You spent well over $100k for your Escalade and you can't afford a real dash cam system? You've been tearing your hair out trying to get 50/50 recording/playback for months! The above link guides you to a solution that requires about 2-3 hours of your precious time and the result is (literally) a night and day difference. Mine arrives tomorrow.
"Like a taxi" - LMAO. To each his own.I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic...because if you are, it's pretty funny.
Did the Cadillac support person on this forum read this? The standing advice is that since the advertised recording feature works so poorly, and Escalade owners are so wealthy, we should bypass the OEM system with the Rove R3 3 Channel Dash Cam with the Ultimate Hardwire Kit and hang them on the windshield and rear window with the included double-stick tape. Like a taxi.
(By the way, of the two reviews on the product, the one reviewer from the US said it shuts off mid-drive...just like my Escalade)
Can't tell if the engine is running or not. If not, let the engine running and the SVR will behave better.I can see no rhyme or reason to when it works and when it doesn’t record. It’s 50/50. The card is formatted correctly (thanks to the tips on this forum) and it does work sometimes. Also, this happens when trying to open the app:
Good point - I think it was off at the time of the video. However, with the engine on, it still seems to record 50/50Can't tell if the engine is running or not. If not, let the engine running and the SVR will behave better.
Make sure it's formatted FAT32 as indicated in this thread and others.I have a 2023 Escalade Sport Platinum built Nov 2022. I need some help getting my Surround Vision Recorder to work.
After I insert my SD Card, the display says SD Card Not Present. My SD Card is a SanDisk Extreme Pro 64 GB.
I think I purchased the specified SD card. I'm not sure if I am inserting correctly or if I am missing something else.
Thank you for your help.

I get your point -- but I still think GM is getting this wrong. Every other consumer electronic device -- like my digital music player -- will take far larger cards without issue. Given the number of camera feeds the recorder is capturing, 32G is pitifully small. It feels like GM is trying to provide vehicles that compete on having the latest technology, while their implementation and dealer network is sabotaging this attempt. As always, YMMV...This has been covered before. Maximum size 64GB, must format to FAT32 with allocation set to 32. Many free programs available to do format. I have discovered on my 2023 ESV V that once turned on it records all the time, but the red recording dot on the nav screen does not light all the tiime. When I go to view recordings it has 6 views, and I can click to enlarge any of them. I have found as long as it is switched on it is recording regardless of red dot. I agree no reason to not have disk in vehicle from start. Seems like easy thing for dealers to format pile of correct disks and put one in each vehicle when sold. But with correct disk mine has been working fine.
My PDR in the corvette works great but the Escalade just sucks. Special formatting that confuses its user makes it a black eye more thana gold star. 32 and 64 sizes both work, FAT32, 32 allocationHi there. So im still confused till now. Some1 says 32 gig and some1 says 64. So which one we should use for escalade 23?
Regardless of what you use it has to be 32 allocation. And with Fat32 not exFat.Hi there. So im still confused till now. Some1 says 32 gig and some1 says 64. So which one we should use for escalade 23?
I agree. They don’t make sense sometimes. It’s almost like the 23’s are their beta testing. It’s stupid. Here’s what I found about FAT32.I get your point -- but I still think GM is getting this wrong.
