Have a brand new 23 Escalade V. Same issue. SD card reader (the one in the trunk where the card goes for camera recording) doesn’t work. It’s a 128g Sandisk. Does anybody have any suggestions or knowif this issue has been corrected?

I used the SANDISK ULTRA PLUS 32GB without any issue. Maybe start with that to see if the disk is where your problem is.

Here's my window sticker along with a photo of the SD card I use. I installed the SD card in the slot as it was packaged, (I didn't reformat it) went to the "Video Recorder" screen and hit the record button. When it's recording there's a little red light that stays lit on the right of the screen.
Thanks for the info. Still in contact with the dealership. We’re still trying to get the app to show up.

Please read through this thread. There are a ton of suggestions that have worked for people. Your 128g is way too much. Just need a 32g.

Mine was a small slot that is vertical next to the fuse box.
I finally got the SD card to work. I used the Command Prompt on my computer. If anyone is interested here are some easy steps.
After you are in the command prompt type ‘Diskpart’. Then type ‘list disk’. When you see the SD card type ‘select disk ?’. Put the number in where the question mark is. Then type ‘clean’.
Then type ‘create partition primary’. Then type ‘format fs=fat32 quick’. It should format it pretty quickly. If it comes up that the volume is too large type ‘shrink desired=2600’. Then try to format it again with the command above. It took me a while but it’s working now.
I followed your instructions and everything worked except i still got the volume is too large after using the 'shrink desired=2600" command.

Any suggestions? I have a 64gb sandisk extreme pro V90

I had to experiment with the number to shrink it to until it worked. 2600 was what worked for me. I would try a lower number to see.

When I picked up my 2023 this week there was a separate page included with the manual to replace the comment about the SD card specs. It's now updated to show FAT32.
Anything about size. My 2023 manual says "...at least 64GB, with an exFAT file system, and a video class of V30 or greater." Does your addendum say anything about the 64GB?

I posted this question in another thread and I don't think I should have put it there. My question was more for this thread.

Is there a way to have the recording start automatically every time you start the truck or do we have to do it manually every time on startup?

Once you hit the record button it should record every time. Mine seems to record maybe 50% of the time.

Thanks for this. I finally got my 64GB Scan DIsk Extreme formatted with FAT32 and all is well. Tried it with 256GB but it would not recognize it and I tried a lot of different cluster sizes. So, it looks to me like FAT32 64GB is the sweet, maybe only, spot.

Thanks

It’s something similar to what’s in the corvette. The SD slot is in the glove box. You have to set it to record over also. But i have it set to record every time i get into it. You never know what’s going to happen and when. It’s best to be always prepared. Glad the new Escalade will have it!
The card slot is in the rear last panel in the trunk area on the driver's side. Remove panel and you'll see where the card goes.

From the manual:

The minimum recommended SD card specifications are at least 64GB, with an exFAT file system, and a video class of V30 or greater.

Oh, and in general ... don't buy cheap memory cards you find on Amazon, or whatever Internet site you find 'the best deal' on. You might luck out and get something of decent quality, but chances are you will end up with substandard quality and reduced longevity. It never ceases to amaze me that people buy cheap stuff and are shocked when they get cheap stuff. :)
So on my 2023 Escalade ESV V that "panel" is the back half of the AKG speaker cover. Is there some certain way to remove it? I have felt around the edges and suspect it might just pop off, but not anxious to pull it off forcefully and break a retaining clip or such. Any insights would be appreciated from you guys that have been accessing this compartment. I don't see any holes or retaining clips on the picture from the manual.

Thanks for any help!

All right answered my own question. 2 vertical plastic hooks on top edge of speaker grill need to be unhooked last to remove, first to be replaced. 5 metal clips on plastic tabs secure the sides. Needs to be removed from bottom first. Fabric drape is hooked onto two top clips black side out.
