Okay thank you for this. Doesn’t appear that my vehicle has this app installed or at least the icon is not available. I checked under apps and long-press and it’s not visible there either. I guess I’ll need to visit the dealership for this one or maybe try a factory reset.

Is yours a 23’? Also in one of these posts someone showed their wires were unplugged. Did you check around it for a little white wire?
Yep 2023 Sport. I did see the comment about the wire being unplug - I check it seems to be in there pretty good. Appears to be software issue maybe, I checked to see if there any updates pending but says it’s up-to-date taking it to the dealership I think is my only option at this point. We’ll see what they say.
What does your window sticker look like? Any credits for anything? Maybe it was on constraint during your production week?
Looked at the window sticker, I see HD Surround Vision under the Safety & Security section - don’t see Surround Vision Recording called out separately.
I only see one credit listed on the window sticker that says not equipped with and is it’s for the 2nd row express-up window control. Very weird. Double checked the Cadillac site to make sure and it’s listed as standard equipment so I don’t think I’m going crazy.
I agree with you I think it’s a software issue. The blue hour glass appears on my screen also because I don’t have reverse guidelines. I’ve been complaining since I received mine back in August and there still isn’t a fix. I think there’s a huge software issue and they’re working on a fix. I know there was an update the other day but I’m scared to do it because some people are saying their vehicle won’t start now after they did it. Whoever they contracted to write their program better get this fixed soon or it will be the Achilles heal to such a great SUV!
Update: Dealership reset the infotainment and an update but not successful in having the video recorded app appear on the display.

I’m not sure if this matters or not but so far I’ve noticed most people that don’t have the trailering package are the ones with the issue. If they have the additional camera for the hitch view then they aren’t having the same issues
Thanks, I definitely don’t have the trailer packaged. I spoke to Cadillac reps on the phone today. They did confirm the vehicle should come equipped with the Record App installed. The opened a case so we’ll see where that takes me.

You’re funny only because you have no clue because yours doesn’t have it. It’s a function that should work consistently but we have no way to know since the dash doesn’t represent it accurately all the time. It’s a great safety feature in theory but because it’s functionality is always in question it’s always an issue. You can grab the duct tape for yours while I work out the kinks in mine.
You completely missed the point.

Here's my window sticker along with a photo of the SD card I use. I installed the SD card in the slot as it was packaged, (I didn't reformat it) went to the "Video Recorder" screen and hit the record button. When it's recording there's a little red light that stays lit on the right of the screen.

I get it. But I feel for him because I don’t want anything to happen to mine either. And video helps protect it. Have you seen the kids that got their licenses during Covid?! I’m in Atlanta and I swear they’re the dumbest drivers on the road.
I still had to format mine and the red dot isn’t always on. Can’t figure out why it doesn’t show all the time but is still recording some.

Even though the owners manual says "The minimum recommended SD card specifications are at least 64GB, with an exFAT file system, and a video class of V30 or greater." I used a 32GB and had no problem getting the recorder to work. Maybe try the SD card I used?
I've had dash cams (Front and Rear) in my vehicles for years now and I've done over 200,000 miles worth of recording all over the 48 states and never got so much as a frame that I couldn't live without or that would be in any way helpful. Just lucky I guess, but IMHO, dash cams are better than trying to use parking cameras to attempt to do the job, especially when you're limited to 64GB. The built-in surround recorder is a toy like the AR dash and the Night Vision are toys. Yeah, AR navigation is neat, but I use Google.
Side Note: My Escalade is Crystal White Tricoat.
Good catch! Don’t know why I had tint coat. My original order was the Radiant Red tint coat. My forward camera came in handy the other day when the person in front of me hit a deer. And I’ve had it come on a few times in the parking lots when someone bumped the side doors. So it’s not a total waste. Just wish it was more like the PDR in my car.

Have a brand new 23 Escalade V. Same issue. SD card reader (the one in the trunk where the card goes for camera recording) doesn’t work. It’s a 128g Sandisk. Does anybody have any suggestions or knowif this issue has been corrected?
