I had my supercharger replaced under warranty on my 2012 sedan. I was skeptical concerning this work due to the results from fellow V owners. I'M very satisfied with the maintenance performed by the Whibbs Cadillac in Pensacola FL. My V is real quite compared to the marbles in a can I dropped off. Hope other V owners will have the same success if you require this service/warranty work performed.

Mike, are you getting any groan from the new SC at low rpm until the car warms up? My original SC was quiet with the hood down, inside and out.

Jud

I asked if I was getting the solid isolator or the old spring type, but the mechanic couldn't tell which one was installed. I thought after 2012 Eaton had switched to the solid isolator. It sounds quite for sure compared to when I dropped it off. I have an auto if that makes any difference. So far I'm happy.

Thanks, I'm just trying to see what others' experiences have been with the "new" SC replacements.

Thanks. I'm going to start angling for replacement #3 soon.

New one does not rattle, it groans especially when cold and taking off in first gear. It is quite sad that the replacement SC has a more annoying sound than the original. If I had to do it again, I would not replace the original SC.

Thanks, it makes my great 2009 sound like a POS. I don't like it and it is an insult to those of us that embraced the V2.

Had my SC changed not long after Trapspeed. I think we received a series of replacement SC's that WERE an improvement over the old ones, (new part no. was 19301022). Like Trap, my SC is much more quiet than the one replaced, and has no, "groaning", sound at all. Looks like the latest series of replacement SC's are making the, "groaning", noise now, and I'd bet they have a different part no. as well ...

I have a light throttle groan in 3rd & 4th gear on my 2014, with the factory supercharger. I'm not sure what it is. The transmission, or the SC. After reading these horror stories, I'm not doing anything. I'll live with it.

Like I said in my previous post I had mine replace 3 times in 12000 miles and now I get this groan and it is worst then the other 2. It is a 2012 coupe. I don't drive it much but it is
still a problem when city driving it is embarrassing to be driving a caddy with this noise. I call caddy several times all I get they are working on it.

It sad that Cadillac has been aware of this issue with the SC from Eaton and chose not to improvement their product or hold Eaton feet to the fire to correct a sub-standard SC. You stand next to a Zr1 and it's very quiet, not a hint of a rattle. Get next a 2009-2014 and you might be ashamed that's your vehicle making all that rattle noise. After looking at the new Zo6 Corvette LT-4 it sure looks like they might have gone with another SC company. It resembles the Edelbrock SC that were available as an after market SC for the C-6 vettes. I just hope Caddie has corrected this issue so the new potential 2016 V buys don't go through the SC replacement butt pain we V-2 owners had to.

Just my .02

My bad guys, I should have watch the 2016 V reveal to be educated that Eaton has the designed the SC for both corvette and V-3 LT-4 engine. I stand corrected, sure hope it's quite. But it looks like the Zo6 is having heat issues already when pushed hard, the PCM is pulling back on power to keep from a failure. Hope the V doesn't have this issue also.

I had mine replaced to. Much quieter but have the groan between 500-900 rpm. I have a case with Cadillac and they are working on a solution for us. It is embarrasing that this car does this and GM should be quicker to respond. I have been following up bi-weekly with them on the progress. Love the car just need the General to fix our issue. Please complain to GM and lets get this fixed. On a good note...no rattle anymore!

It took 4 years to fix the rattle for the groan so I don't have faith they will ever fix this. I have been in contact since day one and get the same answer a fix is coming. You might be in for a big surprise if they fix it before the 10 years are up. That's what they give us now 10 years My guess no fix is coming. The ZL1 are getting replace to for the groan. But we are stuck.
