Hey Guys, its me again for some more help. hope you dont mind. haha

Anyways, ive already went over rims, offsets, and sizes. Now i want to drop the CTS lower. Hopefully to get some tire or rim tucked in under the fender. Yes i know, some of you guys may not like taking a perfectly good CTS and slamming it. But i personally like the look. So i was wondering if theres a good setup to slam my CTS lower than 1.5 which i have read can be done with Eibach springs. Im not looking to spend thousands but i dont want to use any cheapo aftermarket parts that might give out on me.

Thanks in advance.

Making it that low would require springs that have absolutely no give at all, otherwise the tires would rub all the time. The resulting ride would feel like you're rolling in one of those wagons from oregon trail.

Dont mean to discourage or disrespect your idea in anyway, just wondering if you're aware of this.

How bout instead of slamming the suspension, you completely re-mold the fenders to go down over the tires?

...oh wait, that sounds just as dumb as the original idea....

you mean coil overs on air bags? hmm i thought about that but im not really into airbags
Not my cup of tea. I really dig the sport in my sport in my sport/lux Caddy.

But, you're gonna have to use airbags or hydraulics. Theres no other way around it. Without adjustable height, and going as low as you wanted, you'd almost definitely scrape over speed bumps, and they aren't even that harsh.
Coming from someone who's been in the show game (my father has worked on 2 Ridler candidates) you can't really do this for a pinch. You'll end up spending the same amount to fix the car.
My suggestion is for you to save up your dollars and get the bagged setup. I'd say you could get a basic setup for under 1500 if you looked. You'll never have to worry about fixing any body plastic, and you'll have control of the height for different driving conditions.

Looks like we've got the idea police on our site! Everyone, careful!
Sorry, maybe I should have worded my first comment better, but I agree with your statement in your next post. I picked my CTS b/c of the way it drove, not for the looks. Personally I see no point of spending a bunch of money on a mod unless its going to somehow enhance the handling or performance. My theory is a car should be fast, not look fast. Just a difference in opinion I guess.

PJ, if I'm not mistaken, are they the same rims as Marine's?
They sure look like a set that he had, huh? I think you are right.

Nice pjohn! love the pic. hmm. Well the besides the Eibachs, should i need to get any other suspension parts or struts to lower my Caddy?
All I used was the Eibach's..but of course mine is nowhere close to what was in the pic I posted. I wish I had the website there were some other pics of that bagged CTS

1 1/2" is insane and unsafe. 1" max. with springs. when you drop the car that far the front wheels won't turn out of the fender well unless you use air bags or hydaulics to lift it. So it's only low when you park it.:cookoo:
Check out the shaved door handles!
